Huberta Little, age 72, of Lame Deer

Huberta Ann Killsnight Little

With her last words “I love you” to her grandson, Da Rell. Our beautiful Mom and loving wife peacefully slipped away in her sleep.

Huberta (Bear Trail Woman) was born March 18, 1951 to Mary Longroach Teeth and Hubert Killsnight. A  descendant of Chief Little Wolf, her loving kind demeanor was her gift of rare beauty to everyone who knew her.

While attending Trade School In Madera, California, Huberta met the love of her life, Maurice Little Sr. soon after they united in marriage one late Summer day (August 27, 1971) at the county courthouse in Forsyth, Montana with cousin, Marcine and wife Connie Killsnight  and to this union came: Dion Kim, Maurice Deland Jr., Joseph Sean, and Lionel James.

Moms’ hobbies include beading, knitting, sewing, cooking, listening to her favorite music, or as she would say “I’m going over the hill”, which meant going to the casino, she also loved to take road trips.

She leaves behind her soul mate of 51 years, Maurice, Sr., and survived by her boys: Maurice Jr. and Babyboy, Lionel. Brother: Arthur Teeth of Lame Deer, Montana

Grand Children: Lenny, Kharlin, Joseph Jr., Ablazah, Shochana, Joleia, Berta, Alondra, Nevada, McKinsey, Colista, and Da Rell.  Greatgrandchildren: Avery and Da Rell.

Greatgrandchildren: Avery, Doris, Isidro, Queliah, and Kaique.

Those who also knew her as Mom include: John Toineeta, Sheldon Foote, Freeland Demaray, Cedric Rowland, Bryce LoneWolf, Blaine Small, Josh Wallette, Porter Knowshisgun, Keanu Scalpcane, Eli Small, Holly and Paulee Small, Brothers: Max Jr., and Jeremy Hiwalker and Nephew: Arno Earl Teeth of Billings, Montana.

Special friends: Ron and Cindy Bigback. Myrna Burgess. Including all of her Gambling Friends at the Charging Horse Casino.

Namesakes: Jamie Rishel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Paulee Small of Missoula, Montana

She was preceded in death by Mother and father, Mary Longroach Teeth and Hubert Killsnight, stepfather, Earl Teeth, siblings: Lawrence Longroach, Geraldine Killsnight, Lincoln and Erlyce Teeth. Her sons: Dion and Joey Little.  A niece she raised as her own, Geraldine Marie Longroach, her son, Chay Little and her granddaughter, Valerie Shyne Little. Her special sister Roseanne Headswift.

Sister in law: Zelberta Begay.

Uncles: Eli, Avon, Louis Sr., and Martin, Aunts: Evelyn, Marcella, Colleen, Elva, Mamie Killsnight, Irma Jean Killsnight Hoops, Margaret Killsnight and Agnes Killsnight Littlehead.

Extended Families include: Killsnight, Braidedhair, Little Wolf, Begay, Jim, Headswift,

Our family is quite large, please forgive us if we left anyone out.

Dad says, “She enjoyed her casino time, and most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great children, her nephews and nieces, all of her family. “

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital for their warm care and kindness. We would like to also express our sincere gratitude to those who patiently took care of our mom at the Northern Cheyenne Ambulance Service, and the Charging Horse Casino Staff.  We appreciate you all.

Traditional Wake services will be held on March 15^th, 2024 7 pm at the Blessed Sacrament Church, in Lame Deer, Montana, with the funeral services held March 16^th, 2024 11 am at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Lame Deer, Montana with burial services next to her sons Dion and Joey at the Allison Bixby Memorial Gardens, Lame Deer, Montana.
