Our beloved father and grandfather, Hugo Muggli, age 92, of Miles City went to be with his Savior, Friday, November 10, 2006 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Hugo was born on April 1, 1914 in Richardton, North Dakota, the son of Joseph and Barbara (Schmidt) Muggli. At an early age, he moved with the family from Richardton, to Ringling, Montana and then onto Rosebud, Montana. The family farmed on the Rosebud Flats until 1928 when they moved to Miles City and purchased a farm in the Yellowstone Valley. Hugo attended Kircher School and then Custer County High School. Following his graduation, he worked on the family farm and on February 25, 1941, Hugo and Cecilia Deibele were united in marriage in Miles City. They lived in the Yellowstone Valley until 1948 when they purchased a place on the Tongue River south of Miles City where he was still active on the farm until the time of his death.
Hugo loved life on the farm and enjoyed manufacturing machinery for its use there as well as for his family. He loved working in the shop and could fix or build almost anything, a trade that he carried on to his family. He was an amateur photographer and even had his own dark room and equipment.
