I Laverne Hewitt

I. Laverne Boots Hewitt passed away peacefully on June 26, 2010.

Boots was born March 24, 1924 in Helena, MT; the youngest child of Robert E. and Lilly Mae Mullins O'Connell. Boots grew up in Marysville, MT. Upon graduating from Helena High School Boots served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until April, 1946. She returned to Helena after WWII and attended the Helena Business College where she met Bruce Hewitt. Boots and Bruce were wed in Missoula, MT on July 20, 1947. Boots and Bruce were the parents of three boys: Rand, Scott and Dave. Boots enjoyed playing bridge, volunteering at St. Peters Hospital, her travels with Bruce and time spent with family and friends. Boots especially delighted in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Boots was preceded in death by her sons, Scott and Rand, her husband Bruce and siblings Blanch Kahla (Chet), Gordon OConnell (Kats), Bob OConnell (Ruth), Ann Korting (Ernie) and sister- in- law Irene Hewitt Johnson. She is survived by her son Dave (Kim) Hewitt; of Clancy, grandchildren Wyman and Tiffany Hewitt of Helena and Bozeman, great grandson, Cooper Hewitt, brother-in-law Bud Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
