Inez Kramlich Wright, 82, of Bozeman, Montana, died June 10, 2004. Inez was born on September 27, 1921, the third of 9 children of Fred and Freda (Liedle) Kramlich at the Kramlich homestead in the Doyle Creek Community south of Broadus, Montana.
Inez grew up on the homestead and graduated from Doyle Creek Country School and Powder River County High School in Broadus, Mont. in 1939. She later joined her oldest sister, Mildred, in Chicago where she worked for two years during World War II. Inez married Samuel S. Wright in Miles City, Montana, on September 14, 1944. Sam had grown up in Miles City before making a career in the U.S. Air Force. Inez moved to many places with Sam on Air Force assignments that included: Vallejo, Calif; Japan; Oklahoma; Philippines; Del Rio, Texas; Illinois; and Okinawa. She enjoyed traveling to new places and met some life long friends along the way. In 1971, Sam retired from the Air Force and they settled in Miles City, Montana. Inez worked for a newspaper publishing company for 10 years. She was also very active doing volunteer work and supporting many organizations in Miles City.
Surviving Inez are her son Ken (Ellen) Wright of Kent, WA, and her two daughters: Helen (David) Gardener of Cary, NC and Doreen (Brian) Stoppel of Bozeman, MT, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving Inez are her sister Ramona Carlson of Solana Beach, CA, and brothers Alvin Kramlich of Portland, OR, Willard (Bill) Kramlich of Great Falls, MT, and Robert Kramlich of Dickinson, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in 1973; her parents Fred and Freda Kramlich; a brother Leland "Sonny" Kramlich in 1941; three sisters, Mildred Rea in 2002, Leota Glasgow in 1995, Margaret Shober in 1991 and a grandson Curt Gardener in 1995.
A Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Veterans section at the Custer County Cemetery.
