Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City
Irene Strom, age 90, of Miles City passed away on February 20, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Irene was born on July 28, 1918 to Rasmus and Christina (Kleiven) Monson in Miles City, MT. She was raised and attended school in Miles City where she graduated from Custer County High School in 1943. Irene moved to Phoenix, AZ to work as a secretary for a lawyer firm in 1947. She then traveled to San Diego where she worked for 2 years before moving back to Miles City where she worked at the Post Office, for Jim Mountain CPA for a number of years, the Custer County Welfare Office and for a local attorney all before retiring. It was in 1962 that Irene and Curt Strom were married in Miles City.
Irene is survived by her sister Marian Perry of Queen Valley, AZ and close friend June Baker of Miles City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curt, brother Ralph Monson and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 11:00 am at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
