Funeral Service: Monday, November 3, 200t at 10:00 am at the VFW Hall in Jordan
Interment: will follow in the Butte Creek Cemetery with full military rites
Irl Kelsie Stanton, age 56 of Jordan, Montana passed away on October 29, 2003 at Poplar, Montana after a sudden heart attack.
Irl was born on September 28, 1947 in Jordan the son of Glenn and Jessie (Shawver) Stanton. He attended 4-Corner country school and graduated from Jordan High School in 1965. Irl worked for area places until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam Conflict. When he returned to Jordan, he began driving truck for Bill Stanton. On June 26, 1971 he and JoAnn White were married in Jordan, MT. Together they had five children; Wayne, , Melissa, Kelsey, Angela and Darial. Irl operated Jacks Corner Conoco, later working for Jack Currey driving bulk truck. He drove gravel truck for Bill Stanton. He also worked for the Department of Revenue as the County appraiser until he went to work as seismograph permit man. He then purchased his own semi from Ebert Stanton and drove truck until the time of his death. Irl enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Nascar and most of all being around his family. He loved to watch his children play High School Sports. Irl was also very involved with the Jordan Ambulance and Fire Departments.
Irl is survived by his wife JoAnn Stanton of Jordan, MT, one son; Wayne and his wife Krissy Stanton of Jordan, MT; four daughters; Melissa Stanton and her fianc Rick Kibler of Billings, MT, Kelsey and her husband James Reynolds of Sand Springs, MT, and Angela and Darial Stanton of the family home, his very good friend Daryl Goebel and his wife Terri and daughter Julie of Philipsburg, MT.; one sister Linda and her husband Levi Estes of Helena, MT; two brothers; Delbert Stanton and his wife Lynn of Brusett, MT and Doug Stanton and his wife Darla of Brusett, MT, numerous nieces and nephews, two grandsons; Trent and Ty Stanton and two granddaughters; Tawney Stanton and Boston Reynolds.
Irl was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jessie, and his grandparents, and a daughter, Patricia Rae.
Memorials may be made to the family to set up an educational fund for his children.
