Services will be at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Homes on December 11, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. His wishes were for cremation and burial at the Custer County Cemetery. Lon was born in Miles City, Montana on September 19, 1952 to Patricia Joan Timberman (Dorr) and Irvin Duane Timberman. At the age of 12, his family moved to Casper, Wyoming.
Lon graduated from Natrona County High School, married his high school sweetheart, Janna (Willy) Timberman, and they had three sons, Christopher Shane, Kelly John, and Zeb Alva. He attended the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD on a rodeo scholarship and received his degree in marketing. Later he managed farm stores in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming.
In 2004, Lon & Janna purchased a ranch in Bridgeport, NE, where they raised cattle, horses, and farmed hay. After 9 years, they decided to move back to Wyoming, to be closer to their family, and purchased farm land to build their homestead and raising cattle and hay.
Lon was a Master Mason with the Camp Clarke Lodge No. 285 in Bridgeport and member of Wyoming Cattleman’s Association. He enjoyed hunting, flyfishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Lon was always learning, studying, and working to be better at everything he was trying to accomplish. At the time of his death, he was working for Western Ranch Supply in Billings, Montana, doing sales and delivery. Here in South Dakota Lonnie (FONZ) made great memories for all of us. Fun, talented, competitive, outgoing, caring, confident, a friend, a compadre, and sassy:):)
Family, rodeo, agriculture, livestock, businesses all noted and I would add musically blessed. Left everybody with there mouths hanging open after he played a full song on the juice harp. Did the same thing on the piano, played Great Balls of Fire as good as Jerry Lee Lewis ever did. I am sure you can imagine that performance:) His darling wife Janna, nicest lady alive with a great looking family in the Thanksgiving picture. Your King is missing today and one GREAT day we will see him again.
God Bless and Happy Trails….to the Timberman Family, God Bless and Happy

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Lonnie and I sure had some fun times growing up. We were confused though as young boys how we could share a grandmother but not be related!! His bachelor party was the first one I ever attended. Needless to say, I don’t remember much of the wedding. I think Shorty was with us. Duane?

Lon was such a good neighbor and friend. If he saw that your equipment was broke down or struggling with your crop in some way….There he would come, with either his windrower, skid steer or hands and a hammer ready to help.
There is no way to describe how much we will miss Lon and his demonstrative way of visiting and telling stories.
We are thankful to be a part of this family in our little rural neighborhood.

We were so saddened to hear this news. Lon delivered our horseshoeing supplies to us here in Cody. He was always such a gentleman, always smiling, and always interested in what had been going on in our lives. Last time I met him in town to pick stuff up, he was telling me about a young horse he’d just bought and how he was looking forward to riding him when work slowed down. I sure hope he got to do that. We extend our sincere sympathy to his family.

Lon was a great friend. One who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it worse than him. The hospitality of Lon and Janna is unsurpassed by any one I’ve known in my life. Lon introduced me to bareback riding when I moved from Texas to Casper in 79. Enjoyed my time at J- flag arena and all the rodeos we went to. I’m so glad I got to meet up with him again for the past few summers while passing through wyoming. His sorely missed.

My condolences to the Timberman family. I met Lon when he drove into my yard to inquire about buying a farm from me. We quickly agreed on a price, shook hands, and the deal was done. We became friends, and he called often to visit, or ask farming questions. He always had a new idea, or plan for the future. He will be missed.

Sorry for your loss. You boys were some of the best competitors in Natrona Co. You always represented us proudly. You were gracious winners, always humble & appreciative. And you were great team players. Your sportsmanship was above reproach. And I can’t think of too many other 4-H moms that were as kind, caring and sweet as you, Janna. Although many years have past, the positive interactions with your family still come up when I recall ‘back in the day’. Wishing each of you comfort and peace as you continue down life’s highway. Eight grandkids — way to go, boys!!
