Isabel Lapito O’Neill

Vigil Service: will be held on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City

Mass of Christian Burial: will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City

Rite of Committal: will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery

Isabel Lapito ONeill, age 80, of Miles City went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, August 2, 2004 at her home in Miles City.

Isabel was born in Gorham, North Dakota on July 5, 1924, the daughter of Wallace and Patricia (Malkowski) Osadchuk. She attended school in North Dakota and worked on the farm herding cows. At the age of 17, she was sent to a convent in Philadelphia and was a nun for nine years. She returned home for her fathers funeral and met Sam Lapito. They were together for 28 years until the time of his death in 1980. On August 8, 1983, she married Richard ONeill. She worked at the Olive Hotel and the Miles City Steam Laundry.

Isabel enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Isabel is survived by her husband, Richard ONeill of Miles City, MT; a son, Leo Lapito and his wife Susan of Billings, MT and their children: Luke Lapito of Las Vegas, NV; Marcia, Gabe, and Lucy Lapito all of Billings, MT; three stepdaughters: Barbara Stark of Kansas City, MO; Patricia Rubel of Missouri, CO; Beverly Huffman of Plains, MT; and a stepson, Brad ONeill of Harlowtown, MT. Her parents, seven brothers, and seven sisters preceded her in death.

A Vigil service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
