Ivan Kelly

Visitation: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Circle.

Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Monday, May 16 also at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Circle.

Interment: will follow at the Vida Community Cemetery.

Ivan Clair Kelly, moved on to a better place on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Glendive Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born on December 5, 1929 in Vida, Montana to Lissettia and Clair Kelly. He grew up in Vida and graduated from Circle High School in 1949. He was drafted into the Army in 1951 and was honorably discharged.

He and his brother Francis farmed in the Duck Creek area for a number of years. Ivan moved to Chandler Arizona and worked as a janitor in an elementary school until he had to retire for health reasons. He then became a security guard for the Caterpillar Co. in Chandler.Ivan married Ruby Weeks on January 22, 1968. Ruby passed away on March 24, 1978.Ivan returned to Circle in 2003to be closer to family. He enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center each week. He made many creative items with wood and could be seen on his back porch many sunny warm days cutting figures.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Jack, Bob, and Francis; and sister, Betty SchockHe is survived by sisters, Rita (Don) Nelson of Vida, MT, Joan (Gene) Garpestad of Circle, MT and Jean Kvande of Polson, MT and many nieces and nephews.

His dog Ziggy was his constant companion and of great enjoyment to him.
