Interment: will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City
Jack Reynolds Fisher, age 88 of Ismay, MT passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 23 in Baker.
He was born at the Fisher Family Ranch, the son of Billy and Fanny (Reynolds) Fisher. Jack grew up on the ranch with sisterEvelyne and brother Bob and attended local country schools through the eighth grade.After the death of his father, Jack carried on in the family businesses of horse trading and sheep ranching. He had a love of horses all his life, running and trading them all over Eastern Montana from the time he was a young teen. It was a time when there were few fences.He worked for the CCC during the depression and ran rodeos for many years, among them the popular Ismay Rodeo. At one time Jack was a member of The Range Riders in Miles City.He married Helen Cherry on May 29, 1976 in Miles City and they worked the ranch together for 28 years. In Jack's later years, he and Helen enjoyed their morning coffee groups as well as social activities in Baker, Ismay, Mildred, Fallon, Terry, Glendive and Miles City.
Jack is survived by his wife Helen Fisher of Ismay, MT; two step sons: Bing (Carol Hardesty) Cherry of Miles City, MT; and Don Cherry of Pasadena, CA; a step daughter, Cynthia (Mike) Schif of St. Charles, IL; a brother, William E. Fisher of Palo Alto, CA; two sisters: Gert Fisher of Miles City, MT; and Barbara Maner of Vurton, MI; a brother-in-law, Jack Dunbar of San Rafel, CA; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kinsley of Stevensville, MT; and three step grandchildren: Darcy Turner, Donald Cherry, Maxwell Schif.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyne and brother Bob.
