In Memory Of

Jack Harmon

Visitation: Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral service: Friday, \August 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Miles City.

Interment: Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579.

Jack B. Harmon age 62, of Laurel, MT died Monday August 4, 2008, at his home following a short illness.

He was born January 1, 1946, in Black River Falls, WI to his parents Frank R. and Caroline (Jone's) Harmon. He grew up in Sparta, WI, where he attended elementary school. Then in 1956, they moved to Newburg, WI, where he attended middle school until 1960. His parents moved to Tomah, WI, where he finished high school graduating in 1964.Jack was drafted into the Army in 1965 through 1967. During this time he served one tour in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to NancyTreuon October 5, 1968. They had two children Jeff and Geri Lynn. In 1973 he transferred with the Veterans Administration to Miles City, MT, where he worked until retiring in December of 2004.

While living in Miles City he was a member of the Custer County Deputy Sheriffs Reserves. This was a position he thoroughly enjoyed and through which he developed several friendships. Jack loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, shooting and reading his Bible daily. Jack enjoyed doing this with all of his brothers, sisters, friends and other family members. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jack was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He always had a smile on his face and would help others before taking care of himself.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy; One son Jeff (Ondria) Harmon, Billings, MT; One daughter Geri (Kevin) Rector, Lewistown, MT ; Five grandchildren: Joshua, Jayna, and Justice Harmon, Brooke and Ryan Rector; father, Frank R. Harmon, Miles City, MT; brother, Frank R. Jr. (Barbara) Laurel, MT; brother, Lee (Jane) West Bend, WI; brother, Ron (Andrea) Laurel, MT; brother, Jim (Nancy) Kewaskum, WI; brother, Tom (Barb) Billings, MT; sister, Edie (Don) Treu, Warrens, WI; brother, Dennis (Marlene) Laurel, MT; sister, Judy (Howard) Hanson, Warrens, WI; brother, Jerry (Alison) Freemont, CA; sister, NancyTralmer, Warrens, WI; sister, Mary (Mark)Hilyard, Great Falls, MT; sister, Julie (Terry)Sgrignoli, Miles City, MT; mother-in-law, Beth (late Charles) Treu; numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Caroline, in 1983, and father-in-law Charles Treu, in 1997.

We loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
