Jack John O’Brien Jr. passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Holy Rosary Health Care under the care of Holy Rosary Hospice from complications associated with Spondyloarthritis. Jack was 55 years old.
Jack, the son of Jack John O’Brien, Sr. and Judith Jane Seaman O’Brien was born February 1, 1964 in Seattle, Washington. Jack’s formative years included a series of moves from the East coast to various places throughout Montana. Jack’s junior high and early high school years were spent in Miles City before attending and graduating high school in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. During his teen years, Jack developed a love for farming and ranching and continued this work after graduating high school. In 1987, Jack took a job at Pine Hills School For Boys where he served as a cottage life attendant until being promoted to program manager. Jack remained at Pine Hills School until a job-related injury prevented him from functioning in his capacity there. During Jack’s time with Pine Hills, he met and married Sandy Sevesind. Together, Jack and Sandy raised their seven children. Jack and the family enjoyed traveling, barbequing, outdoor activities, demolition derbies and raising several bichon puppies. Jack also enjoyed carpentry, country music, cooking and in recent years found an interest in genealogy.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother; his sister Anita O’Brien Ritz; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Sevesind; his father-in-law, Earl Sevesind; and numerous aunts and uncles. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 27 ½ years, Sandy; his children: Jamie (Mark) Teeters of Miles City, MT; Kristen (Richard) Newby of Helena, MT; Meghan (Mark) Brown of Cooperstown, ND; Eric (Larisa) Jensen of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Caitlin (Buddy) Webster of Billings, MT; Steven O’Brien of Missoula, MT and Heather O’Brien of Washington D.C.; ten grandchildren: Sara, Zach, Payton, Khalin, Ellie, Greta, Audrey, Lily, Allie & Fox; a great granddaughter Haisley Marie; his sister, Lori(David) Wyss of Garland, TX; several aunts and uncles; special friends Edna Jensen, the Steve Wagoner family; Kim and Alan Brown; Kay and Jerry Collins; and Paul and Yolanda Ferguson.
