Jackie Mobley

Jackie Mobley, age 59, of Moorcroft, Wyoming, died Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming, of complications from ALS .

Jackie Gray Mobley was born April 5, 1944, the son of Jack and Dorothy (Gray) Mobley in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jackie lived in Wilmington until he was 4 years old. In 1948, he moved with his family to Rozet, Wyoming in, where he began his education in 1950. In 1962, he transferred to Moorcroft, where he graduated high school. He attended the University of Wyoming for two years, and was inducted into the Army in October of 1966, serving until 1968. During this time, he served his tour of duty in Vietnam. After his tour of duty in the service, he finished his education at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. He graduated in the spring of 1970. Jackie married Glenda Sweem on August 1, 1969 in Moorcroft, Wyoming. To this union two children were born, Amy Lynn Reynolds and Marci Lee

Allison. In the summer of 1970, Jackie was employed by Apache Oil Company. In 1972, he and Glenda purchased Krause Lanes Bowling Center in Moorcroft, operating the bowling center until 1995. During the summer months while Jackie and Glenda operated the bowling center, He worked for Kummerfeld Construction, Holyoak Trucking, Mobley Construction and Keyhole Country Club. Mr. Mobley was an avid bowler, and an avid golfer. Jackie was a great athlete at any sport he attempted. During the years he was not able to work, he loved playing bridge, watching the stock market, watching sports and taking care of his grandchildren.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Glenda Mobley; two daughters: Amy (Doug) Reynolds and Marci (Cory) Allison, all of Moorcroft, Wyoming; his parents: Jack and Dorothy Mobley of Moorcroft, Wyoming; two brothers: Jerry (Gini) Mobley of Caldwell, Idaho, Jim Mobley, and friend Patty Maher of Gillette, Wyoming; one granddaughter, Ashley Reynolds; four grandsons: Toby Reynolds, Tanner , Tate and Tucker Allison all of Moorcroft, Wyoming; two nephews: Dustin and Rusty Mobley; one niece, Tory Mobley; one mother-in-law, Frances Sweem of Moorcroft, Wyoming; and one brother-in-law, John (Candy) Sweem of Sheridan, Wyoming.

Jackie was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, and his father-in-law, Jack Sweem.

Funeral Services for Jackie Mobley will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 13, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming with Pastor Donovan Voigt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 12, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming. Interment will follow at the Moorcroft Cemetery in Moorcroft, Wyoming. A memorial has been established with the ALS Foundation.
