Jackobine (Jackie) Meidinger, age 94, formerly of Terry, MT passed away on December 15, 2022, at Friendship Villa. Jackie was born on July 15, 1928, to Fredrick and Elizabeth Kron in Fundu Saraficai, Bessarabia, now known as Moldova. She was one of eight siblings, seventh in line. She was a German citizen born in Russian territory. The government relocated the family to Austria in 1939. Once they arrived in Austria, they were put in a convent and lived there until they got a farm in Poland in 1940. They were there until they had to flee during the winter because of the war, Russia was going to take over Poland. They fled to Hamburg, Germany in 1944. It was from there that they came through New York, on the ship Washington, then on to Fallon, MT. Jackie was a war refugee. The Adolph Ulrich Sr., family sponsored them to come to the US. If you ever discussed those days with her, you could clearly see why she was the strong person everyone loved. She endured many hardships throughout her lifetime. She and Harold Meidinger were united in marriage on January 25, 1951, in Fallon, MT. On October 11, 1951, their daughter Marilyn was born. Followed by daughter Carolyn, on October 7, 1952, and a son, DeLynn, on April 19, 1957.Jackie was always found outside working side by side with the love of her life, Harold. Harold and Jackie purchased the family farm in 1959, and resided there until September of 2003, when they retired and moved to Terry. She enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to Bible tapes, and just spending time with God. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting, and embroidery. After Harold passed in 2017, she spent most days embroidering. She always had a big garden and shared her bounty with family, friends, and neighbors. Many people were blessed with her knitted slippers, and her embroidered dish towels. One of her greatest passions was working outside with her flowers. She always kept her yard pristine.
After falling on Christmas Day in 2019, she moved to Cottonwood Care Home, until August 2022, when she fell again and was moved to Friendship villa.
She so enjoyed her Bible Study group at Cottonwood that was led by Pete Lindley. Then, while at Friendship Villa she attended a Bible Study group put on by three sweet ladies.
Jackie missed attending church towards the end of her life. She attended Grace Bible Church in Miles City, MT.
Jackie never had any formal schooling. She never attended school and basically was self-taught. She became a U.S. Citizen on November 3, 1955, with the help of Mrs. Ottis. She was very proud of that achievement.
Many thanks to Cottonwood Care Home and The Friendship Villa for the care mom received. She was grateful for having shared her life with her husband of 66 years, Harold; her daughters Marilyn (Robert) Wenz of Plevna, MT, Carolyn (Vernon) May of Terry, MT; and son DeLynn (Angie) Meidinger of Fallon, MT; seven grandchildren LuAnn (John) Unterseher, April (Wayne) Wright, Nola Wenz (Daniel Tetrault-fiance), Zjon (Bobbie) May, Travis (Tonya) May, Cody (Kathy) Meidinger, and Lorianne (Chris) Klobofski; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; one sister, Matilda of Circle, MT. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Fred and Elizabeth Kron; two brothers, Reinhold and Ted Kron; and five sisters, Olga Roesler, Lydia Wenz, Ida Wenz, Renatta Kron, and Magdelena Kron
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jackie’s name to Grace Bible Church, Miles City, MT.

Dineen Meididnger-Mueller says
To the Meidinger Family, and those extended… Know that there are no adequate words that express the sorrow and deep sadness from losing our loved ones. Aunt Jackie was our last direct link to that generation of the Meidinger family. SO many questions yet to be answered have been lost. Faith, trust, humility, strong will and “German Pride” don’t come close to her will. May God Bless and keep you all. Donna Meidinger, Nancy (RJ) Swartz, Dineen (Terry) Meidinger-Mueller.
Kolleen (Waldo) Forsyth says
In reading Jackie’s obituary, she truly lived through tumultuous times growing up. Im sure she was a strong and smart lady as a result. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Jackie personally, but my Fallon area family knew her. They were the Waldo’s from Crackerbox Route.
My sympathies to Jackie’s family. I hope her life’s story continues to be shared for following generations. Many of us have never experienced these type of life events, as she did. Thank you for sharing your mom’s story.
Wilma K Kuntz says

I loved all the music and the accomplished musicians, and the closing song AWESOME GOD! Perfect! Pastor Phil did a super job, of sharing about her, and the truth from God’s word! Our prayers continue…..
Stan & Carol Pehl says
I’m very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I was not well acquainted with her, but I remember her kind hospitality when I would visit DeLynn. The reference to her youth in her obituary tells us she saw a side of life that could have either made her cold toward others or find dependence and trust in God to strengthen her to be the person that is remembered fondly. Our best to your family in this time of loss.
