In Memory Of

Jacqueline “Jackie” Anderson, age 68, of Miles City.

March 30, 1957 – May 6, 2025

Jacqueline “Jackie” Anderson, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Billings Clinic in Billings surrounded by her family.

Jackie was born on March 30, 1957, in Miles City, Montana to Jack and Roxye (Sanders) Hanley. She attended grade school at Trail Creek through 5th grade then attended schools in Miles City where she graduated from high school in 1975. Jackie then attended Miles Community College where she received an Accounting Certificate.

Jackie married the love of her life, Steve Anderson, on July 24, 1976, in Miles City. To this marriage they had three children: Barry, Kyle & Kelsey. In 1993, Steve’s sister passed away and they welcomed their niece, Samantha, into their home and raised her as their own.

Jackie dedicated over 40 years of her life to the Bureau of Land Management in Miles City, working as a Land Law Examiner. After retiring, to keep from being bored, she went back to work for Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home until the time of her death. Jackie had a deep fondness for the Stevenson & Sons family.

Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their many activities and milestones. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening and traveling. She was an active member of Knowlton and Locate Homemakers Club. Jackie also delighted in ‘girl trips’ with her sisters and friends. Among her favorite adventures were a cruise to Alaska, a bus tour to Nova Scotia, a milestone birthday celebration in Nashville, and snuck in some quick Deadwood getaways starting at the Bison Bar!

Her deep joy was always being surrounded by family, the more the merrier; she was an amazing host. She recently was thrilled to learn of her future ‘great-grandson’ and grandchildren’s weddings. She will always be remembered for her beautiful contagious smile and loving personality. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she impacted.

Jackie is survived by her husband Steve Anderson of Miles City, MT; two sons: Barry (Keli) Anderson of Miles City and Kyle (Tara) Anderson of Forsyth; daughters: Kelsey (Leo) Pluhar of Miles City and Samantha (Ben) Cagle Hydrick of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren: Kaci (Grady) Johnson, Riley Anderson, Ashton (Ole Borge) Anderson, Colton Anderson, Kaylee and Nathan Zard, Chasyn and Avery Pluhar, Zach and Ella Hydrick; sisters: Linda (Dean) Newman of Grass Range, Deb (Bob) Hagemeister of Kinsey; a brother Justin (Carolina) Hanley of Miles City and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Roxye Hanley, step-mother Doris Hanley and a niece Jona Murray.
The family would like to thank Grandma Jackie’s special nurse Ashton, Doctors, Nurses, and Dialysis team.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Knowlton Cemetery at Knowlton, MT. Luncheon to follow at Knowlton George Park. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made payable to the Knowlton Community Hall for upkeep and sent c/o Jim and Marj Anderson, 1262 Road 403, Ismay, MT 59336.
