In Memory Of

James C. Cossitt

Funeral services: Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powder River Congregational Church in Broadus

Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus

James C.Cossitt, age 75, of Broadus passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Fort Meade, South Dakota.

James was born in Quietus, Montana on October 19, 1929, the son of Lester Arthur and Viola Elizabeth (Austin) Cossitt. He attended rural schools in Powder River County before the family moved to Wyola where he went to school then moved to Lodge Grass where he attended high school. Following his schooling, he went to work for several local ranchers. He went into the Army on February 1, 1951 and during his time in the service he married Loyce Williams on January 2, 1952. James was honorably discharged from the services on January 31, 1953. James then moved back to Broadus where he went to work on local ranches. He worked as a ranch hand on the Emmons Ranch atOlive, Montana and after working for Emmons, he became self-employed. James enjoyed life and loved spending time on top of the Big Horn Mountains. He enjoyed drinking coffee with friends and especially loved his time spent with his family and friends.

James is survived by his wife,Loyce Cossitt of Broadus, MT; four children: Vern Cossitt and his wife Laura of Casper, WY; Frank Cossitt and his wife Darla of Powell, WY; Katie Nalivka and her husband Lyle of Butte, MT; and Dan Cossitt and his wife Marty of Gillette, WY; a brother, Bill Cossitt and his wife Nancy of Ranchester, WY; a sister, Nita Fenton of Billings, MT; and two sisters-in-law: Helen Cossitt of Billings, MT and Mary Cossitt of Shepard, MT; eleven grandchildren: Stefan, Mike (Andrea), Matt (Jodi), Lori, Jeremy, Scott, Sam, Josh, Jamie, J.P., Natosha, and Maria, and one great grandchild, Brandon.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Henry Malley Memorial Library in Broadus, MT.
