Fred was the gas man for my family when I was a kid. I remember being so excited to hear his truck on delivery day and running up to the tank to greet him. He always had a smile for everyone and was a highlight of my day. As an adult, I still loved running into him with my grandma. What a great man. He will be missed.

So sad to read this. I had just mailed his birthday card. He was a wonderful pen pal, to me, and neighbor to my parents. I will miss his stories and talking politics with him. He was a very kind person who I will miss. Rest In Peace Fred!

I was so sad to hear of Fred’s passing. He delivered fuel to my dad’s ranch souh of Miles City for many years. We always looked forward to visits from “Fred the Gas Man”. He was always kind to us kids and treated us like we were special and not the pests I know we really must have been. Mom would ask him to stay for lunch and we were thrilled when he accepted. We loved to listen to him and the news and stories he told us. He was a much loved visitor. He will be missed.

My sympathy. The gas man!! The joy of us kids when he pulled into the yard. We got Company! we rarely had company. Mile City to Sonnette was a long haul. Us kids would be outside playing or making mud pies in the gas shed, Waiting so polite and patiently as those smiles and small talk always followed with a sucker on a string. Having not seen Fred (the gas man) in almost 45 years, he came to mom’s funeral. What a joy for all of us to visit, he was just as precious as ever.
