Vigil service: Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City.

Rite of Committal: will be held in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls.

James Anthony Howard, age 80, of Miles City, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City

James was born on July 25, 1927 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of Arthur James and Christina (Williams) Howard. He attended grade school and graduated from St. Marys Catholic School in Great Falls. Following high school, he attended the College of Great Falls. James married Marceline Dorr on June 21, 1947 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Great Falls. He worked for Autowash, recapping timers. They later moved to San Francisco, California where he worked for Gurley and Lord Tire Company for 8 years until returning to Great Falls in 1959, working for tire businesses for 43 years. He then changed careers and started working in health care where he worked with Alzheimer's patients which he enjoyed doing. In 2004, he moved to Miles City to be near family.

James is survived by his wife, Marceline Howard of Miles City, MT; a daughter, Leona (Larry) Dann of Miles City, MT; two grandchildren: Sean (Melissa) Dann and Evelyn Dann; four great grandchildren: Crystal Dann, Stephanie Dann, Adam Gibson, and Jake Huber; a cousin, Mrs. Leo Meier of Great Falls, MT and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
