James Jim Bailey

A Celebration of Life and family gathering for James Bailey, known to his family and friends as Jim will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming.

Jim Bailey, age 63, died October 5, 2004, at his home in Gillette, Wyoming.

James David Bailey was born May 23, 1941 the son of Charles Adam and Ethel Grace (Wilkin) Bailey in Lebanon, Indiana. Jim attended schools in Indiana, where he graduated high school. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963. He married Frances Alma on August 18, 1962 in Frankfort, Indiana. Jim worked for Coca-Cola Bottling in Frankfort, Indiana from 1966 to 1978. Jim and his family moved to Gillette, Wyoming on July 1, 1979, where he was employed with Tanks Incorporated and Dresser Atlas. For the past seventeen years until the time of his death, he was employed with Real Estate Systems Incorporated as their maintenance person.

Jim enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, watching racing of any type on the television. In his younger years, Jim would take the family car to the drag-strip to race. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends; he loved to make trips back to Indiana to see his brother, mother and nieces. He enjoyed collecting antiques, beanie babies, and Coca-Cola and NASCAR memorabilia.

He is survived by his mother, Ethel G. Bailey of Frankfort, Indiana; his wife, Frances Bailey of Gillette, Wyoming; one son, James David Bailey Jr. of Gillette, Wyoming; three daughters: Carol Sherry Bailey; Cassandra Ann Boggess; Jennifer Lynn (White) Kline all of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother, Jerry Lee Bailey of Frankfort, Indiana; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his uncle Howard Wilkin; his aunt Wilma Pennington; and uncle Robert Wilkin.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jims name. Donations and/or condolences may be sent in care of Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716 or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
