The morning of Thursday, September 21, 2017 James Killsnight Jr. Mo’eheso “Little Elk” left us to join his parents, sons and relatives that have gone before us. James was born on September 28, 1960, in Crow Agency, Mt. He was the son of James “Francis” Killsnight Sr. and Regina Mae Longroach.
James attended the local schools and attained his GED in 1981 at the Kicking Horse Job Corp in Ronan.
Some of the jobs that James held were: Home Care Worker, Lame Deer Trading, a jailor at the Tribal Law and Order Department, a fire fighter with Forestry, and working with his brother Tony in Tulsa, Ok as an Electrical Control Worker with Energy Efficient Systems and also with the Pipe Line in Texas.In 2003, he was with the STS 107 Crew that was involved with the Cleanup of the Columbia Space Shuttle in Texas.
James married Cecelia Gail Rockabove on December, 1978 in Lodge Grass. From this marriage they had 6 Children. He enjoyed reading his bible and attending church revivals and spending time with his friends; Art Marshall, Kenneth Spotted Elk , Adam Washee and Front Line friends. He often talked about how he missed his children and grandchildren.
Preceded him in death: his grandparents, Willis and Carrie (Red Robe) Killsnight, parents, James and Regina (Longroach) Killsnight, Sr; sisters, Gertrude and Drucella; brothers: Christopher, Xavier and Ferdin; sons, Vincent and Willis Killsnight.
He is survived by his children: Tanita, Dylan, Francis, Chris, Teeson, Kassi, and Alysha; eighteen grandchildren; brothers: Marcian (Connie) Billings, Anthony (Betty) Tulsa, Ok, and Clement, Lame Deer; sisters, Rosanne(Wayne), and Velecia, both of Lame Deer.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the following friends for always being there for James: Sandi Olson, Janet Wolfname, Jackie Craig, Kristen Neiderklein, and Vernon Sooktis.
