James Jim McDonagh, age 87, of Miles City, MT formerly of Rosebud passed away on March 28, 2010 at the Holy Rosary Extended Heath Center in Miles City.
Jim was born on March 7, 1923 in Miles City, MT the son of James and Violet (Riley) McDonagh. He attended grade school at Sacred Heart Elementary through the 8th grade when he left to help with the family farm. He and his brother farmed on the Haines place for ten years before moving to Rosebud in 1955 where he farmed until 2009. Between the two farms he farmed actively for close to seventy years, 55 of those years werewith his good brother Pete.Jim was baptized into the Catholic Church at a young age and was active in the church throughout his lifetime. He was a member of the Elks for many years and also a board member on the Carterville-Thurlow Water Board.
Jim is survived by his brothers and sisters; Eunice Ganteaume of New York City, NY, Bill (Mary) McDonagh of Hill City, SD, Pete McDonagh of Miles City, MT, Alice (Gary) Parks of Sioux Falls, SD, Therese Weber of Miles City, MT, John (Donnie) McDonagh of Puyallup, WA, Owen (Nancy) McDonagh of Minneapolis, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles and sister Elenor Klar.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at 10:00 am at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevensonandsons.com.
