James David Spotted Wolf, Heoveskeve’ho’e (Yellowwhiteman) journeyed to join family members who were waiting for him on the other side, on February 26th, 2023, after a long hard battle with his health. James comes from the Spotted Wolf Chief family. James, known by many as JD, a brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and a friend to many people he has met along the way through the journey of life. James will be greatly missed by many.
JD was born in Crow Agency, Mt to James Spotted Wolf & Elaine Strange Owl on Dec, 22, 1961. He was the youngest of the family.
JD is survived by three children, Tonia Spotted Wolf (Garrett W.), Jasia Spotted Wolf (Chris Jorgenson) , Brandon Spotted Wolf; grandkids, Keaton, James, Leilani, Korben, August Dean, Rajah, Analiyah, & Kahleo, He leaves behind his sister’s Germaine (Spotted Wolf) Brien, Jamie (Spotted Wolf) Hurff, & Sonja Headswift. Aunts; Aladine Spang, Eva (Jim) Lee, Florence (Mike) Runningwolf, Charlotte (Tom) Rockroads, Ruthie StrangeOwl.
He journeyed to Seattle WA wanting a change and made his home there in 2018. Many times’ JD talked about moving home, but we knew his heart was in Seattle.
JD always had some crazy stories to tell when you visited him, his crazy laugh was contiguous. JD missed his grandparents Patrick & Jean Spotted Wolf who help raise him along with Germaine, Event, & Rita whom he considered his sisters. JD spent time in Birney with his mom where they lived and he left his legacy there with his buddies. JD loved to study the traditions and learn all he could, he wanted to past these things to his kids and grandkids.
His loved ones who preceded him in death his parents, brother’s Terry L Spotted Wolf Sr, & Gary Spang. Grandparents Patrick & Jean Spotted Wolf, David & Grace Strange Owl; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. Our family is large, please forgive us if we may have forgotten to mention you in our time of grief.
We would like to thank Harbor View Medical Center for caring for my dad.
