James W. Davis, age 82, of Broadus

December 28, 1934 – November 17, 2017

James W. Davis, age 82 of Broadus, Mt passed away on November 17, 2017 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.

Jim was born on December 28, 1934 on the family ranch near Haxby, MT. He was the son of James P. and Virginia (Kipf) Davis. He grew up on the Big Dry and attended school in Van Norman, MT. through the 8th grade. In the early 1950’s he worked on the construction of the US Highway 212 for Pert Kiewit and Sons. On February 1st, 1957 he married Rosalie J. Ridenour. Together they helped out at the family sawmill. Over the years he worked at various ranches in the area, for the Powder River County, the Belle Creek Oil Field, Alderman Oil and then drove school bus until 2016.

Jim was preceded in death by his father James P. “Stub” Davis, mother Virginia, brother Pat Davis, sister Lennice Wood and his wife of 60 years Rosalie.

He is survived his children Vernon Davis, Daniel Davis, Royce Davis and Becky Roberts, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Son’s Funeral Home in Broadus. Memorials in Jim’s honor may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

    Very sorry to hear this. Jim was always my favorite coffee drinker when I worked at the Cashway. He was a good neighbor to us too. Such a nice man with a quiet way.
