James Roy Whiteman Sr.,” Na’he ne’vah “(Chief Killer) went home to live with Maheo’ at the age of 26 years. James was born on April 2, 1987 in Billings, MT to Melton & Jamie Blackwolf Whiteman. James was a member of the Elk Scrapers Society. James enjoyed helping at Sundance’s and Sweats, he was looking forward to the upcoming Sundance.
James went to Rainbow Head Start when he was 3 & 4 yrs old then on to Lame Deer Public School.
James met his first companion Alison Black; they had two boys, Jason, & James Jr., and one daughter Jayme. Alison and his kids remained a part of his life. James also had another daughter with Ramona Roman Nose, named Zephaniah My Love Brady. James & his current companion; Karmelita Nomee have two boys; Jaroy (Bobcat), Karlito and is expecting a baby girl due in July.
Growing up James loved to go fishing, & hunting with his dad & Uncle Joe back in the day. James was a ladies man and he grew up with his cousin/brothers: Chey, Harlan & Flint Roundstone, James Costilla, & John Whitegrass, Benson Whiteman, Zack, Sheep.
James loved basketball, football, and video games. Mostly he loved to go hunting with his brother James Costilla and best friend James Posey Fisher, Woody and his buddies. James was always surrounded with all his buddies; Wendell, Tave, Rusty, Tre, John, BM, & Sheila Whiteman, Cassie, and too many to put on here.
James always had a smile and greeted everyone he saw, he respected all his family, and he never turned anyone down if they needed his help, and smoking his weed which was all the time..
James is survived by his mother Jamie Whiteman, Aunties: Veronica (Red) Candy, Ruth Costilla, Nancy (Chief) Prairie Chief, Edith Bissonette, Priscilla Littlebear, Crystal (Richard) Smith, Ernestine (Boola), Leslie, & Mary Spang, Lorna Soldierwolf. Sisters: Serese (Dale) Jefferson, Melanie (John) Russell, Carol (Levi PrettyOnTop) Whiteman, Laura (Dondi) Byrd, Paula Castro, Trisha Anderson, Betty Jean Whiteman, Sandy Bruisedhead, as well all the Littlebear, Costilla, Blackwolf, & Threefingers. Brothers: James Costilla, Mike Whiteskunk, Chey, Wendell, & Flint Roundstone, John Whitegrass, James Fisher Sr., Rusty Castro, Steve Littlewhiteman, Steve Caplett,, Zack Racelis, Juan Costilla Jr., Brian Limpy, Antonio Ricki, Miko Brady, Linden Blackbird, John Bellymule, Tim Whistling Elk, Chester Whiteman, William Prairie Chief, Clay & William Teeth. Uncles: Fredrick, Robert Gene, Hubert, Woodrow, Paul, Iron, Walter, & Alan Joe Blackwolf, Victor Orange, Jerry Whiteman, Jule Jr., Ron, Gus, Charlie (Rachel), & Wilbur Spang. Cousins: Corey, Ruben, JR & Aleda, Brian, Jason, Artie, Daniel, Jonas, & John Blackwolf, David & Michael Whiteskunk, Nephews Trevon, Torrey, Brian & Brandon, Neice Mikaia Kitten Russell, and all of the Northern Cheyenne Ambulance personnel.
Numerous cousins, brothers, sisters, aunties, & uncles from Oklahoma, Colorado, & Montana, we apologize if we forgot any family members.
I want to thank all his buddies that have been keeping the fire going and digging his grave, Keri Lynn, Rachel, Aleda Thank you for everything.
Traditional Wake will be Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish in Lame Deer. Funeral Services will be Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish. Burial will follow services in the Blackwolf Roundstone Family Cemetery in Busby, MT. I am now 16 & I am still grieving, its been 10 years now and im still waiting to go to his room and see him smoking up or something even though it someone else’s room now lol. I really miss my dad, I know that I would be a wayyy better person than I am now. Im trying my best to make him proud up there but I know he’s proud of me for trying my best. I wanna let him go so he can be free but its not as easy as I say. I miss waiting for him to come home from hunting with a big bull elk. Love & Miss you Dad, your always in our heart, 5ever.
