James William Bill Boulware, age83, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Bill was born in Amarillo, Texas on April 30, 1926, the son of James Johnson and Annie Mae (Amburgey) Boulware. Bill grew up and attended grade school and graduated from high school in Amarillo, Texas. In 1944, Bill joined the United States Marines where he served in China during World War II. Upon his discharge, he moved to Miles City to help his parents build the family home at Locate, where they ranched. He was introduced to his lifelong companion Marjorie Ann Pelissier by his father and future father-in-law and they were married five dates later on January 1, 1948 at the Episcopal Church in Miles City. They moved to Bozeman where he went to college to become an Ag Teacher until a family crisis arose when his father had a stroke and they moved back to Miles City. He remained on the family ranch were Bill and Marge operated it until 2000 when they sold the family ranch and moved into Miles City where he made his home since.
Bill was a member of the Stockgrowers Association, Miles City Club (of which he was past President), Town and Country Club, Elks, American Legion, Marine League, School Board, Tax Appeal Board, and the Airport Commission Board.
Bill is survived by two sons: Jeffrey (Holly) Boulware of Brookings, SD and John Jack (Christie Ward) Boulware of San Francisco, CA; a daughter, Jimi Lou (Gary) Woodard of Weatherford, TX; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 2003.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
