Jane Therese Hoverson, age 55, of Billings formerly of Jordan earned her angel wings on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Billings Clinic, due to complications of diabetes with her family by her side.
Jane was born on September 1, 1958 in Billings, Montana, the daughter of Melvin and Norma (Gallinger) Hoverson. She grew up in Jordan and graduated from Garfield County High School. She lived most of her adult life in Miles City, and retired from Friendship Villa after 20 years of dedicated service due to health issues. In 2008 she sold her home in Miles City and moved to Billings to be with family. In November of 2011 her health declined yet again and she moved to Billings Health and Rehab Center, where she lived until her death. She made many loyal friends there, being the good and kind person she was, helping people whenever she could.
Jane loved to garden, being part of the Miles City Garden Club for many years. She also loved to travel and made many fun trips with her mother to see parts of the United States. Her dream was always to see Scotland, but never got the opportunity. Jane also loved to read, and in later years when her eyesight failed, she read many books on tape and spent many hours reading her bible on tape. Her faith was a large part of her life and she loved bible study. She grew up in the Lutheran faith and converted to the Catholic faith later in life. Nothing was more beloved to her than her cats, Kate and Patches. They provided her with many years of companionship. Jane studied genealogy and loved learning about her family history. Family was everything to her and she loved her nieces and nephews so very much. Time spent with them meant the world to her. Her greatest legacy would be her kindness to anyone and everyone. She would give anything she had to anyone who needed it, even if it meant she had to do with less.
Predeceasing Jane were her grandparents, father Melvin and her brother Paul. Jane is survived by her mother, Norma Hoverson of Billings, MT; sisters: Halle (Duncan) McDonald of Jordan, MT, Laurel (Charles) Noland of Huntley, MT, Sally Hoverson of Billings, MT and a brother Glen (Cindy) Hoverson of Pulaski, WI. Also surviving Jane are nieces and nephews: Amberlyn Hoverson, Sarah Ruth Hoverson, Beth Hoverson, Paul (Allison) Hoverson, Donald (Amber) McDonald, Scott (Mega) McDonald, Tony O’Connor, Roberta O’Connor, Brian (Kathy) O’Connor, Stacy Noland (Andy) Dean, Becky Noland (Pat) Schlauch, Portia Hoverson, Sarah J. Hoverson, Lexie (David) Reed, Douglas (Sarah) Hoverson and Kaci Hoverson. She is also survived by 26 very loved great nieces and nephews and a dear lifelong friend Barb Guesanburu David.

I am so sad that I did not get a chance to visit with her, at the airport in Billings several years ago was the last time we saw her. Hold your memories close in your hearts, may they help you through this time of sorrow.

It is with a very heavy heart I post this! Jane was a very dear gal who gave of herself to many. She had so many hurdles to jump with her health and jumped them all with grace and dignity. She never complained and always wore a smile. May you all find comfort in the fact that she is now free of all her pain and struggles as she joins Paul in heaven. RIP Jane! If I can do anything for you please call anytime. Love & hugs to all!

Bonnie Ryan Bischoff says
I heard from my sister Beverly today that Jane passed away. Jane was a lovely spirited woman with a giving heart. I received a letter from Jane on July 26th, 2008. We had been corresponding for a period of time. She had asked if I had heard from Paula Watson? She was always concerned for others. She asked if I had gone to the 50 year reunion of the store and stated in her letter, “I’m sure it was fun.” She had asked what I was doing in the summer. Jane stated, “I am hoping to go to Nebraska in the fall to visit Barb Guesanburu. We always enjoy working in the garden and canning.” “I hope I eventually will be able to get part time job. I don’t like to not work.” A woman who loved others and was genuinely interested in what was going on in the lives of those around her. She took the time to make a delicious popcorn ball, carefully wrapped in a box sent to me probably around Christmas time of 2008. Jane was filled with grace and giving to others without expecting anything in return. As we remember Jane, we also know that her body has been transformed and that she is no longer in any pain or suffering. Jane is now with the Master Gardener! Bonnie
1 Corinthians 15:54-55New Living Translation (NLT)
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
Elayne says
To Jane’s Family,
Your in my thoughts and prayers I know Jane had a lot of health problems but always seem to enjoy life and most of all her family. Everyone that knew Jane knows she was a very special person.

I’d just like to share something that my sweet daughter, Grace (Jane’s great-niece) said to me yesterday. She told me, “Mommy, your Auntie died just like Jesus died.” Such wise, and heartfelt words for a four year old. My Aunt was one of the most Christ-like people so many people were blessed to know and love.
Connie Blonigen says

Jane was a sweet classmate that we had the privilege of getting reacquainted with when Steve’s mother lived at Friendship Villa, we had wonderful visits and were always excited to see each other. An angel has gone before us to prepare heaven’s garden for the rest of us and it will be more beautiful because of Jane’s loving touch. May God bless and comfort you at this time.
Lori Wheatcroft says
