Janet E Jensen died November 14, 2024 in Forsyth MT
Janet was born September 2,1946 in Great Falls MT to Robert Messenger (deceased) and Edith (Lawrence) Schillinger (deceased). She attended and graduated high school in Circle MT.
As the oldest of seven children, her siblings Gary (Joyce) Messenger, Steven Messenger (deceased) Debra (Jiggs, deceased) Wolff, Angela (Ed) Lockwood, Jaron, deceased (Sandy) Schillinger and Lisa (Grady)Lockhart were always a significant part of her life.
Janet met Arlo Jensen in high school in Circle and they married on January 30, 1964. They had 5 children together: Kris (Jenny); Karen (Tim) Green; Kirsten (Mike) Sharp; Kel (deceased) and Kaam (Naysa). She had 10 grandchildren: Evan, Bryan, Brett, Brielle, Kortni, Matthew, Marcus, Mykaila, Laynie and Brynlee, 7 great grandchildren and 12 nieces and nephews.
Janet was a wife and mother first but the community of Hysham was her passion. Over the years she assisted with anything and everything she could. She was instrumental in launching the Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary; was involved with the Hysham Ambulance crew; and worked at the Hysham High School for several years as Librarian as well as many other odd jobs in the community. She enjoyed spending time with her family; traveling with friends and family and camping. She was known for her love for all kids big and small; gardening; decorating and finding antique treasures as well as many hours spent driving around town on her golf cart!
A private family memorial celebration will be held and interment of ashes will take place at a later date.

What a character! Janet was the 1st woman I met when I moved to Hysham. She drove up in her golf cart when I was working on a flower bed, introduced herself and then took me on a grand tour of where everyone lived! She was so much fun! I’ll miss her.

Arlo & family…we are so sorry to learn of Janet’s passing. The red golf cart Janet used to patrol town was always a welcome site. She drove the cart wide open until she spotted someone outside of their home to visit with & always stopped long enough for a chat! The Hysham community will miss her wave & smile but will remember everything she contributed over the years to the town. Take care.

So sorry for your extreme loss of your wife, mother, grandmother & friend. Janet was a wonderful cousin; lending an ear & giving helpful suggestions when asked. I will always remember her mysterious & contagious laugh; not always sure what she was actually laughing at. Always felt welcome in her home & her town of Hysham.

My godmother, my friend, my second mother.
Janet and Arlo were always there for me, in times of celebration and times of sorrow. Little did I know it at first but after time I realized they were the ones in my life that were always there to debrief me when I needed to talk about horrific calls and life in general.
A piece of my heart goes with you Janet!
Love you,
Wayerd

To the Jensen Family~
Janet was such a character and truly a treasure to the Hysham community. Quick-whitted and so funny, I just loved running into her as she always had something to say! Lots of memories of her as the school librarian-no messing around when she was in charge! My kids will always remember her as The Golf Cart Lady because she gave them many fun rides around town when we came to visit.
Thinking of all of you during this difficult time…❤️
