Jaron Clair Schillinger 59, loving husband, father, brother, uncle & cousin unexpectedly passed away on December 31, 2020. Jaron was born December 19, 1961 in Wolf Point, MT.
After graduating from Circle High School in 1980 Jaron attended Eastern Montana College where in 1982 he met his love of his life Sandy and in 1983 they got married in Thompson Falls, MT. They moved to Circle and he helped his Dad, Clair, farm and ranch for 3 years. Upon his Dad’s passing, Jaron continued farming until 2017 and then decided to lease out the farm acres and focus more on raising cattle alongside his wife and kids. He also worked at various jobs until April of 2019 and then he started working full time for the county road crew near Wolf Point.
Jaron was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He spent many years hunting with his dear friends until his kids became as passionate about hunting as he. His greatest moments were taking his kids hunting, getting them on the “big one” and being able to brag about them.
Jaron and Sandy loved to travel and went on several overseas trips to places such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Indonesia. Skiing was also something they enjoyed doing together as well as taking trips to Vegas to watch his sister Lisa compete at the NFR.
He was a devoted supporter of the Circle Wildcats and a part-time coach of the youth AAU Wrestling club. He loved following his Son, Kyle during his years as a wrestler and football player. Jaron and Sandy were such proud parents when the Wildcat Football team had their back-to-back playoff run, Kyle’s state wrestling third place finish, and team class C state championship.
One of his most cherished moments was to walk his daughter down the aisle on her big day. His father/daughter dance was truly a dream come true.
Jaron passionately and proudly followed his sister, Lisa Lockhart and nephews, Jess and Jake Lockwood throughout their rodeo careers. He was their #1 fan.
Jaron was loved by all who were lucky enough to know him. He had an infectious smile and a laugh that could fill a room. He always made an effort to greet anyone he knew with a hearty hand shake and loved a good laugh.
Jaron is survived by his wife Sandy of 37 years, 2 children, Kelsy ( Matt) Zuroff, and Kyle both from Circle, Sisters Janet ( Arlo) Jensen, Debbie ( Jiggs) Wolff, Angie ( Ed) Lockwood, Lisa ( Grady) Lockhart and Brother Gary (Joyce) Messenger, 19 nieces and nephews and a cousin to many.
Jaron is preceded in death by his parents Clair and Edith (Lawrence) Schillinger, brother Steven Messenger, nephew Kel Jensen & niece Damara Messenger.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Circle High School gymnasium. Please join us in gathering at the VFW Post 4813 for a luncheon and celebration of his beautiful life directly after the service. A private burial will be held at the farm at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a memorial in his name for the AAU Wrestling Club.

Jaron was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend! A hometown Circle Montana boy who deeply loved his community and his family farm. My heart breaks for Sandy, Kelsy and Kyle, and the rest of your family, friends and community who will miss you deeply!
I am grateful for all of the time I was able to spend with you and the family this spring and last summer, most recently! I will cherish the years of memories, the laughs we had and even a few mis- adventures! Rest easy now my friend, in peace and without pain.

Jaron’s grandparents and the Nockleby/Borges’ grandparents were near neighbors. Clare,Jaron’s father, would plow our grandparent’s wind row. A clean wind row—when our grandparents could no longer do that—was a beautiful thing. That’s Jaron, too…generous and a supportive husband and father. We are deeply touched Sandy,Kelsey, and Kyle.

I was saddened by the news of Jaron passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him or saying hi anywhere we ran into each other, whether it be the Country Club talking hunting or at a ball game in Vida when I was a young kid or Circle when I was in high school playing basketball or football. He always acknowledged me and that made him even more special, but that’s just the person he was to everyone. Jaron had an infectious smile and a laugh that a person can’t forget. I am so sorry for your loss and sending good Godly vibes to the whole family. RIP my friend see ya when I see ya.

  27. Greg Berger says

    January 5, 2021 at 9:55 pm

Jaron was a hell of a guy that could make a guy laugh at the most inopportune time and he did that to me several times just by a wink or a hand motion. From school to adulthood he was always someone that was a lot of fun to be around. We had a running joke about who was the better hot dog eater and this joke will never be forgotten as I know he’s up there telling the Big Man that I am…which I’m not. He proved me wrong at every PRCA rodeo in Circle. I will truly miss this man and his humor not to mention his generosity or ability to make anyone feel welcome. My heart goes out to all of you during this difficult time but try and remember that you have probably one of the best angels a person could ask for looking out for all of you now. He will be missed by many but his memory will always be alive. God Bless you all.

I have enjoyed reading all the beautiful words & memories of Jaron. I very much wanted to attend the funeral & celebrate Jaron’s life, as well as see & hug all of his family.. my cousins. Decided it was not the time, what with the spread of the virus & health issues at home. I am so very sorry for the saddness this tragedy has caused all of Jaron’s family & friends. Tho not seeing him often, I agree with all, an infectious smile & friendly words. RIP dear cousin Jaron.

My memories of my cousin Jaron are admittedly minimal and aged, but I offer this:
“Grief, I’ve learned is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is love with no place to go.” -Unknown
I also extend my sincere condolences to his family and all touched by his time with us.

  45. Dan Lawrence says

    September 17, 2021 at 11:19 am

As with my brother Martin, my memories are few and distant. I only remember Jaron as a toddler, yet I truly feel for your loss. God bless him for his contributions to his family and the Circle community!
