Memorial services for Jeanette Hitt, age 59, will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday on September 7th at The Grace Bible Church, in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Charles Small Officiating.
Jeanette died on September 3rd, 2003 at her home from cancer.
Jeanette was born the daughter of Lewis A. and Edith (Richardson) Dotson on August 4th, 1944 in Santa Ana California. She was raised and educated in California, graduated from Durham High School in 1962. Upon graduation, Jeanette attended Beauty School which she worked as a cosmetologist for a year before beginning work for Pacific Bell as an operator. On May 23rd, 1965, Jeanette married James D. Dan Hitt in Lovelock, Nevada. They made their home in Jungo Nevada, where she devoted her time to raising her children. The Hitt family came to Gillette in 1982 after living in various locations due to Dans career. In Gillette, Wyoming Jeanette became known as the doughnut lady from working at IGA and Dans Supermarket in the bakery. Retiring in 1998, Jeanette enjoyed her grandchildren, crafts, and needle work. Jeanette also prided herself in all her family and friends.
Jeanette survived by her husband James (Dan) Hitt, her son Ed and wife Kim of Gillette, Wyoming, her daughter Jodie Hinkle and husband Alan of Fort Smith Arkansas, her brother Ron Dotson of Yerka, California, her 4 sisters, Betty Trojanowski of Fair Oaks California, Mildred Shipman of Orange California, Dorothy Ford of Chico, California, Diane Childers of Willows, California, and 7 grandchildren.
