Jerry Johnston, age 72, of Jordan passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 near Jordan as a result of an accident.
Jerry was born on March 9, 1943 in Bellingham, WA; the son of Clarence and Mable (Anderson) Johnston. Jerry attended grade school and high school in Glasgow. Following his graduation he went on to trade school where he learned to be an electrician. On May 31, 1974 Jerry and Lilly (Chisholm) were united in marriage in Couer d’Alene, ID. They moved to Jordan, Montana where they made their home ever since. Many people benefited from Jerry’s skill of an electrician in the Jordan and surrounding area. He was very talented in what he did. Over the years he built four houses with the help from his friends and a case of beer. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, shuffle board, and playing marbles. He especially liked being involved with his friends and always had time for the little ones. Jerry’s smile and sense a humor will certainly be missed by everyone who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his wife Lilly of 42 years; his two sisters: Sharon (Frances) Neumayer of Pasco,WA and Linda (Jim) Matthiesen of Pasco, WA; his two sons: Barry (Adrienne) Johnston of Billings, MT and Jeremy (Heidi) Johnston of Salt Lake City, UT; his grandchildren Cheyanne, Dakota, Hailey, Roddie, Aliyah, Noah, & Lainee. Jerry is also survived by one great grandchild Dallis and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends that were near and dear to his heart.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Jordan EMT/Ambulance Service or to the Jordan Chapter of the Walleyes Unlimited.
