James Berry, age 67 of Miles City, Montana passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City.
Jim was born on May 16, 1936 in Winnbago, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Hazel (Brauer) Berry. The family moved to Miles City, Montana where Jim attended schools and graduated from Custer County High School in 1954. He then attended Montana State University in Missoula, Montana where he earned his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism in 1960. Jim wrote for several different newspapers including papers in Miles City, Missoula, Helena, and Tucson, AZ. After his retirement from writing, Jim entered the Friendship Villa Care Center due to ill health.Jim enjoyed reading and listening to all types of music, especially jazz. He was also known as a local Miles City historian.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hazel Berry. He is survived by a daughter, Karla Berry of Arizona.
Visitation will begin on Thursday at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the Custer County Cemetery.
