I love and miss you. I know you are in heaven but I will miss your love and prayers here. You were a good brother but an even greater man of God. You have earned your crown.
Marcus Powell says
I will miss you, everyday! Brother, Johnny, was my Spritual Father, Mentor, and Friend. My marriage was hanging on by a string, as I fought with Alcoholism. One Sunday night in Stanley,NC., my wife talked me into attending church with her and our little son. After service ended and everyone had left, Brother Johnny looked at me and asked me to come to him. Within a few minutes, I went form being lost ,to being saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. He taught me about the Love of God, Holy Spirit and Family. He was also, with me at the lowest point in my life when we lost our youngest son. As we where praying, we watched an Angel enter to take my son home. Thanks, Brother Johnny! Enjoy praising God with my son till I see y’all again. Love ya!
Lee Alexander Smith says
And Jesus wept, you are the one who held my hand, who told me of the promise land, with mighty power you screamed his name, jesus christ! thousands will never be the same,an apostle a prophet a man of god, my hero my hunting buddy, my friend my dad, i will see you again on that old blue yonder, we can walk the streets of gold, hand in hand.
I am forever in your debt.

John and Family,
Just wanted to let you know we are very sorry about the loss of your dad. It sounds like he was a wonderful man who lived for the Lord and passed that love down to his family. What a loss for you! Praying that God will flood you with His peace as only He can do at this time.
J Johnson says
Dear family of Johnny Frank Smith – It is obvious according to the information listed above about Mr. Weiss that he was loved and his life touched many people. The Bible book of Hebrews reminds us that God does not forget all of the love and fine works shown by his servants (Hebrews 6:10). We are promised a time when no one will be sick (Isaiah 33:24). In the Bible we are also promised a resurrection of dear family members and friends that we have lost (John 5:28, 29). The promise of Paradise, the perfect conditions God intended for mankind will be fulfilled including God’s “will to be done as in Heaven also upon Earth” (Matthew 6:9, 10). Meanwhile we have the opportunity to be comforted by Bible promises (John 17:3).
Christy Smith says
I love my dad. He is an exceptional man of God. He has been crowned with many crowns and my sorrow can only be dimmed by the fantastic knowledge that my dad gained what he had always desired.
Mary Lou Smith says
Dear Johnny,
I love you so much! You were my handsome husband, my Bestest buddy, the love of my life. As we were married 36 years our love only matured. I will miss you, but I will see you again, either when Jesus comes for his church, or when he comes for me.
Love Forever,
Lou XOXO

What can one say at this time? With many tears of joy and lose one can only review some great memories. The first time I met my freand Johnny was 38 years ago. It was in my home in Winchester Idaho on a sunday afternoon.I at this time was discouraged in my walk with the Lord.Well I didn’t what the pastor, his wife and this young evangelist there but Sue had invited them for dinner so I guess it was alright. We were getting ready for dinner and Johnny was asked to bless the food .My eyes were on him when the tears started to fall Iinto his plate as he wept over lost souls.God had my attention. After we finished eating we worship around the piano and Johnny started dancing in the Spirit. Well that was it I rolled over on the couch and re committed myself to the Lord.Thank God Johnny obeyed the Lord that day. This just who Johnny is one who obeyed the Lord no matter what happen next. Well 38 year later ministing in Idaho, Arizona, Wisconsin, Washington and Montana togeather , what a time, through it all I’ve learned to trust the Lord .Thank you Johnny, my freand , buddy and co laborer in Jesus do me one more thing march around the throne for me and tell Jesus when you talked to I was on my way.Love freand!!!!

Go find Onesimus was the first sermon I remember hearing Uncle Johnny preach. He didn’t reach for his Bible to read verses, they were engraved in his heart. He preached of how we should seek out the lost, chase them down and embrace them, to stand in the gap between them and God’s wrath and compel them to fall in love with Jesus. Uncle Johnny’s heart’s cry was “Give me souls lest I die”. His life was a testament of the miraculous power of Jesus and how walking in the spirit was and is attainable. The only time I ever saw him angry was when we sat on the couch and we watched the news together. He’d yell at the TV and tell all the politicians they’re going to hell in one breath and pray for God to save them in his next. He was an incredible man and I anticipate the day we all meet again. Much love and prayers to Aunt Lou and my cousins. His greatest desire was to see his family saved and. He’d say the Smiths are gonna get saved even if they have to come to Jesus kicking and screaming.and I believe it. We love you Uncle Johnny. Thank you for your prayers, your time and your knowledge. You will be missed for a little while but we will see you in the rapture.
Bruce and lynnette Verlanic and girls says
A good man that answered his calling. The love his family has for him shows through in the dedications. We would all be so fortunate to have that high of praise from family and friends.
Eva Cooper says
Dear Sister Lou and children: My heart is so full of sorrow for your great loss. I know our ways are not God’s ways and God’s ways are not ours. I certainly don’t understand him going home now, but one day we will understand it. Bro. Smith was such a blessing to us at Revival Tabernacle-Stanley, NC. It was always a joy for you all to come for a visit, to preach, or just be a blessing. Never was there anyone like Bro. Smith. I could sit and listen to him talk about his dreams and visions and the things of God, and it was like he was painting a picture on the wall. You could almost see the images he was describing. How I loved to hear him laugh. He didn’t matter how down you felt, when Bro. Smith stopped by for a visit I was always encouraged and uplifted when he left. Next to Jesus, never was there a man that spoke like this man. He will be forever missed but looking forward to seeing him again in glory! Praying for you, Lee and the other children, and grandchildren that God will sustain you. I know your memories will bring you such joy, peace, and comfort in the days to come. Love and Prayers, Eva Cooper

I love you paw paw, you where a great man of god and you will be missed, I love you so much. You are such a great person. You always treated me amazingly, I don’t even know what to say right now, you where an AMAZING grandpa, seven fold. You treated everyone you met with respect. You saved thousands of souls in your life. I know that your up there right now being covered with people thanking you for taking the time and having the courage to walk up and say “Do you know Jesus?” I never was lucky enough to witness any of it, but I love you so much, and I got what it was out of the stories that you told us. How you would walk up to someone and ask them if they knew Jesus, and if they said no, you would have them on there knees praying in tongs with there hands waving in the air. It usually took you no longer then five minutes either. I love you so much paw paw, we are all in shock and despair through this. I miss you so much, and I love you. Have fun up there paw paw, dancing on the streets of gold and glory with Jesus, I know that you are having more fun then you could be down here yelling at the politicians on the news. Have fun paw paw, we will miss you forever.

How to say all the things you want to say about such an amazing man as Johnny Smith. Johnny was a very unique person, his laugh was unique, his smile was unique, his talk was unique, the way he used to sing was unique and played guitar was unique. The way he loved his family was unique the way he loved the Lord was unique. When John and I first started dating I was “that girl” and after he realized that God meant for us to be together he grew to love me as his daughter and I grew to love him as a dad. He was the only dad I ever knew and had and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. He was always calling his family and checking on them making sure they were ok or if they need anything. He was always praying for them. Your family misses you terribly and loves you dearly. Until we meet again on the streets of gold…we love you dad

Dear John, Wendy & families,
I was so sorry to read Wendy’s post about your family’s loss. I know your dad/grandpa meant so much to you. I also know that you know you will be reunited with him again. May God wrap you in his arms. May your memories and the love that Johnny showed you all give you courage to get through these dark days. May peace be with you. Again, John & family I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Words can not express! You and your family are in our thoughts and Prayers. May your memories help you find comfort and peace.
Mike and Barbara Floyd says
Dear Lou, John and Wendy, Christy, Lee, and the boys,
We join with you in missing Johnny as he has gone on to be with Jesus. Revelation 14:13. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. I know Johnny was a man who loved his God, who loved his family, and who loved people. He will be greatly missed, and we pray the comfort of the Holy Spirit for the family.
Kathy Hammill says
Johnny Smith, man of God, has touched my heart and life mightily because we love and serve the same Lord. This man has always had my utmost esteem and Godly love. The example of Godliness he shared with us along the way is enduring and life changing. The anointing upon his life and his preaching is unsurpassed by anyone, in my opinion.
Lou, your words written on this thread are so genuine and heart-felt towards your husband. It moved me to tears as your words were perfect.
The video also broke me into sobs. I miss Johnny Smith and family. We are rejoicing that Johnny is with the One he loves but also it’s sad that though, searching for your family for years we haven’t been able to find you until Johnny’s passing. You all are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. With all our love. There is not another Johnny.
William and Vickie Beson says
Johnny was a very dynamic and on fire type person for our Lord and Savior. He was truly anointed in the Holy Spirit. He was a fabulous teacher, a see-through prophetic man who often received downloads from the Holy Spirit. He loved his family dearly and treasured each of his close friends by constantly staying in touch with them all.
Johnny we love you and miss you! Blessings of peace and God’s grace to the family and close friends there in Colestrip, MT. We know Johnny is traveling “Down the King’s Highway” and enjoying speaking to everyone How Wonderful Heaven Is!

I have connected with John Daniel on face book.
For the funeral tomorrow what I would have said if I were able to be there;
In 1975 I met Johnny and Lou Smith at a revival they held at my home church in CDA, ID.
It was evident they were deeply spiritual people and ministered under a strong anointing.
The pastor of this church was extremely jealous of their influence over “his” people and moved to slander them with false reports, all during the above mentioned revival.
I had a newborn baby boy and was suffering severely by the oppresive religious spirit in operation within my home/church environment. For this reason I was on an extended fast which coincided with the Smith revival which incidently was the first ministry trip the Smiths had taken since their marriage just days before.
Under divine prophetic utterance, Johnny and Lou both vindicated me publicly in the general meeting of the revival. There was an instant connection between us in the spirit and we then enjoyed many years of sweet fellowship together.
No one knows the extent of abuse I suffered at that time better than Johnny and Lou. They were constant friends and support and on more than one occasion, they intervened to save me from bodily harm and very probably, death. God bless you both and may His face shine on you Lou that in this next season of life you will continue to be active in His service and for His Kingdom. I love you and your family forever. Pam

It was a pleasure to meet you when we spent the summer in Colstrip with Ron and Rebecca May.
You were always a joy to sit and visit with and most of all you always had a calming nature about you.
We were not with you as much as we wanted to be but the time we spent was special. I know that we tried to express our gratitude for all you meant to our our daughter and her family( Ron and Rebecca May). I don’t think you realized what a wonderful influence you had been in their lives. You left a positive influence that they will carry until they meet you again.
Thank you to your beautiful wife for all her special ways and caring to our family.
I know you will be greatly missed.
Our love to Lou and her beautiful family.

Ernie and Ann Rogers says
Brother Johnny was a strong, confident Christian who believed in the supernatural. He did not doubt that God is still visiting His people and he was not afraid to speak the truth to whoever would listen. He and I (Brother Ernie) enjoyed almost 3 weeks of fellowship in India with boat trips, train rides and glorious anointed services to the Indian people. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone all the times we visited. As a woman minister (Sister Ann) I can say that he encouraged me to abide in my calling and when I was cut down by others for my gender, he stood with me and strengthened me to preach the word and not listen to any of their criticisms. Thanks from both of us Brother Johnny and we’ll see you again on resurrection morning! What a gathering that will be!

Lou Johnny was a man of God that was truly anointed. Johnny loved the Lord and loved working in the ministry. He prayed for me and my family many times. I still remember the prayer meeting we had at my house one Friday night many years ago and we prayed and shouted and just had a great old fashion prayer meeting . I still can see him talking about the mission trip he went on with Sister Ruby and him saying, Lord this is Johnny. Such blessed memories I have of such an anointed man of God. Praying for you and the family. Love Sue Rash

Lou and family we are so sorry about the loss of Johnny. He was a special guy and everyone loved him. Wished we did not live so far away and we could have been with you and the children today. Just know our hearts and prayers are with you all and if we can do any thing to help you please let us know. We may not always understand why but one thing for sure he is in a better place today than we are. My mother (Lorene) has lost a good friend and prayer partner that one day she will meet again. We love you all,

I just heard about the home going of Bro. Johnny. I really can’t say there is a loss when you know where he is. Jesus promised his presence unto the end of the world. I read the comments of individuals and can tell John continued to influence others as he influenced me. I remember the times of worship in Bessemer City, our time in Idaho together and his preaching for me at North Gaston. I will never forget the street preaching together especially in Grangeville, Idaho. You will be in Jackie and My Prayers . In His Service Bro. Henry.
Kelly and Bibi Martinez says
Dear Lou, John and Wendy, Christy, Lee, and the boys,
I know right now you are enduring unimaginable pain. Johnny was such a good friend to my dad and greatly encouraged my mom after my dad passed. Johnny was an evangelist and he also helped to heal the heart hurts of those in the church. I will always remember the way he told stories when we were all sitting around the dinner table and the fire he had when he was preaching. We grieve with you and hold on to the hope that we will see our earthly fathers in heaven one day.
With Love, Kelly and Bibi
Jeanette Smith Owens says
I am glad to hear Johnny touched so many lives and in my heart I know that grandma, Geneva Smith, who I loved with all my heart and still miss to this day is happy to see her son. I have read about all the wonderful things he has done for so many people. I am not known to a lot of people who knew Johnny but I am known to his family and to my former Pastor Thurman (Henry) Jenkins whose church I attended with grandma Smith and Shane. I will send up a prayer for his wife and children because I know how hard it is to lose a dad. I met his children years ago and I don’t know if you remember me or not but I am sorry we haven’t gotten to know each other better over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
