John Capek

Visitation: Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.

Graveside Service: Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Montana State Veteran's Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579

John Capek, age 81, of Miles City passed away at the Friendship Villa on Sunday, March 20, 2011.

John was born on March 6, 1930 in Cadot, Wisconsin to John and Ruth Capek. As a young man, he enlisted and served in the Air Force. After his service, John worked as an auto-mechanic and a heavy equipment operator and machinist. John was very talented and creative, and was a loving, thoughtful, and caring person. He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica, and also enjoyed wood-carving. He married Sheila Capek and they were married thirty-six years, until the time of his death. Sheila and John had three children, Kathrine, John, and Christine.

John is survived by his wife, Sheila Capek of Miles City, Montana; his children, John George Carr (Joyce) of Everett, Washington, Christine Budd (Kyran) of Edmonds, Washington, and Katherine Copeland (Steve) of Everett, Washington; his sisters, Louise Freeman (Delton) of Plaserville, California, Carol Leonhardt (Ted) of Alderado, California, and JoAnn Bodlak (Bruce) of Sacramento, California; and his nieces and nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchild. He will be missed dearly by all.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Stevenson and Sons in Miles City from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A graveside military funeral will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastern Montana Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. A luncheon will follow at Stevenson & Sons in Miles City. Everyone is invited. Stevenson & Sons have been entrusted with the arrangements.
