John Colgan, age 90, died on February 26, 2004 in Renton, WA of natural causes. He was born January 18, 1914 in Poplar, MT to Frank and Jean Reid Colgan.
He was married to Genevieve Jackie McGinnity. They made their home in Wolf Point for 50 years until her death in 1991. John lived in Great Falls at Eagles Manor during the winters after that time, but continued to return to Wolf Point every summer. John served in the Army in Europe during WWII. He worked for the Montana Highway Department for 40 years and was a road supervisor when he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie and daughter Carol Howard. He is survived by sons Leonard and wife Carol of Renton, WA, Jim and wife Mary of Healdsburg, CA; three grandchildren, Theresa, Renton, WA, John, Seattle, and Chris of Hamilton, MT. Two great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Cameron Wick of Renton, WA, also survive him.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Wolf Point with Rev. Fr. Steve Zabrocki officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
