In Memory Of

John Glenn Kuntz, age 47, of Miles City formerly of Circle.

November 1, 1973 – February 1, 2021

John Glenn Kuntz, 47, loving Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Godson and Friend left us unexpectedly and far too soon on February 1, 2021. John was born on November 1, 1973 in Circle, Montana to parents Patsy and Harvey Kuntz.
While in high school and for a time after, John and Travis worked for David Schillinger operating heavy equipment in the oilfields. After graduating high school in Circle in 1993, John began his career in construction out of state with brother Travis before returning to Montana, where he and Travis acquired and ran a mud-jacking business for several years. John would later join on with Diamond J. Construction in Miles City where he spent the last 6+ years perfecting his concrete skills and operating all kinds of big toys. The epitome of a hard-working guy, John loved operating heavy machinery. He learned early on when he was alone in the cab of an excavator, he did not have to listen to anyone else!
When John was not working, he was enjoying the outdoors…fishing, boating, hunting and snowmobiling, usually right along next to his younger brother and best friend. A hell of a fun-loving guy, John was just a great person to be around. He was always willing to help others first, and always looking out for others, especially kids. John was known by many as “Uncle John” because of his gentle way of treating the kids in his life like they were his own.
John is survived by his parents, Harvey and Patsy Kuntz of Billings, MT. Brother Travis Kuntz of Kinsey, MT. (Jacinda), Nephews Payton and Chaz, and Niece Asiah, Sister Jennifer Sperry of Newbury Park, CA. (Jason) Niece Makenna, and Nephews Rally and Merrik, Sister Amber Massey of Katy, TX. (Mark) Niece Avery, and loving friend Laura Jensen.
John is predeceased by sisters Londa and Brenda Kuntz, Grandparents John and Monica Kuntz, Glenn and Leona Strand, niece Chaela Kuntz, and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
John will be dearly missed by all who were lucky to know him. A Memorial service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Circle, MT on Friday, February 19th, 2021 at 1:00pm, followed by a celebration of his life at the VFW Post #4813.
Rest in Peace John. We love you.

John, the first 18 years of my life include so many memories of you. Riding our bikes all over. Your fort by the creek. I was at your place or we were at my place or at Holly’s place. You were my first smooch when I was just 8. I think we dated for about 5 minutes after that. But then it was back to you chasing me with toads. You saved my life one day when we were riding our bikes and I had stopped and was leaning on a curb. You yelled at me to jump off the bike so I did. There was a big bull snake in my back tire spokes. You ran it over with your bike as it slithered away across the street. You told me to be safe when I started dating someone that was much too old for me. The world is less beautiful and bright without you but what you have left behind will forever be cherished. To your family, I love you and will pray that in time you will find some peace and joy in remembering John. Rest peacefully John. ❤️
