John Mackenzie

Graveside Service: Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Circle. Family and friends will meet at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Circle at 12:30 p.m. and proceed to the cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

John L. Mackenzie, age 64, of Glasgow, MT passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.

John was born in Miles City, MT on December 19, 1945, the son of Royal and Bernice Mackenzie. He was raised on a ranch outside of Miles City and at a young age John joined the Navy where he was active for four years and in the reserve for two years. He married Kathleen Lovatt in 1970. John began working for the Milwaukee Rail Road as a car man and brakeman conductor, when he left the Milwaukee Rail Road he went to work for BNSF and was an Engineer when he retired in 1999 due to health issues. John was an avid reader, he loved spending time gardening and flying his model airplanes.

John is survived by his wife Kathleen of 40 years; one son,Brett Mackenzie of Glasgow, MT; one daughter, Shannon (Jeff) Bondy of Belgrade, MT; sisters, Margaret (Don) Hafla of Cohagen, MT, Sally (Larry) Phalen of Glendive, MT andMary Jean (Fred) Willard of Miles City; a brother Lloyd (Sarah) Mackenzie of Billings, two grandchildren Rhiannon Mackenzie and Payton Bondy and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Pat Mackenzie
