Funeral services: Friday, March 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Terry Community Presbyterian Church in Terry

Interment: will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery in Terry

John Pehl, age 75, of Terry passed away onTuesday, March 08, 2005 at the Prairie County Health Center in Terry.

John was born in Terry, Montana on December 26, 1929, the son of William and Mary (Fleming)Pehl, the 5th of 6 children. He was raised on the family farm near Terry, graduating from Terry High School in 1947. Following graduation, he helped his father on the family farm on Broadview Bench southeast of Terry. On October 10, 1953, John and Anne Lane were united in marriage at Carson, North Dakota. Following their marriage, they returned to the family farm where they raised their family and have lived ever since.

John was a member of the Terry Community Presbyterian Church and was a church officer. He also served as a trustee for the Terry Public Schools for 15 years, and was on the Dry Land Cropping Board for Sidney Experiment Station. John enjoyed spending time in his barley and winter wheat fields from seeding to harvest. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching sports, and working on machinery in his shop. He also enjoyed feeding calves in the feedlot he built. John was a dedicated and generous husband, father and grandfather.

John is survived by his wife AnnePehl of Terry, MT; his children: Carol Sparks and her husband Tom of Plevna, MT and their children: Frank, Katy, George, and Will Sparks; Andrew Pehl and his wife Nancy of Terry, MT and their children: Leslie, Erin & BenPehl; Wade Pehl and his wife Velda of Belle Fourche, SD and their children: Nathaniel and Sam Pehl; and MaryLeMieux and her husband John of Manning, ND and their children: Morgan, Hayes, and Garrett LeMieux. He is also survived by his sisters: Jean Boyer and her husband Lloyd of Billings, MT; and Evelyn Jone’s and her husband Dick of Powell, WY; and two brothers: George Pehl and his wife Jane of Whitehall, MT; and Charles Pehl and his wife Alice of Terry, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Edith Shipley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Terry Community Presbyterian Church in Terry. Interment will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery in Terry. Memorials may be made to the Terry Community Presbyterian Church, the Renovation of the Terry Senior Center, or to the charity of one’s choice.
