John W. Johnson, age 50, died on Sunday, April 24 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital of a recent illness.
John Warren Johnson was born on February 1, 1955 the son of Warren and Barbara (Johnson) Johnson in Sheridan, Wyoming. At the age of ten, John moved with his family to Seattle, Washington where he attended local schools and graduated from West Seattle High School. When John was seventeen he moved to Gillette, Wyoming and worked in the oilfields for several years. John then became employed as a mechanic for Whiteys Auto Repair for many years.
Johns greatest passion was fishing he enjoyed hunting, also just being out in the great outdoors. He was always working on his truck and anyone elses that need repair. His family and friends will remember his wonderful sense of humor and genuine soul.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Swonger of Issaquah, Washington, Two brothers, Dan Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah, LeRoy Huseby of Gillette, Wyoming, four sisters, Pam Werner of Buffalo, Wyoming, Debra Montgomery of Sammamish, Washington, Penny Hughes of Rapid City, South Dakota, Brenda Baker of Gillette, Wyoming, step-mother, Laura Johnson of Gillette, Wyoming, his uncle and aunt-Harvey and Linda Johnson of Sheridan, Wyoming and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl W. and Marie E. Johnson paternal grandparents, Leonard and Leta Johnson, his father Warren E. Johnson, one brother, Orin Huseby, his step-father Glenn Swonger.
