Visitation and Prayer Service: Sunday, March 7, 2004 beginning at 3:00 with a Prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Poplar Cultural Center

Funeral Service: Monday, March 8, 2004 at 10:00 am at the Poplar Culture Center

Interment: will be at Riverside Cemetery in Brockton, MT

John Lee Walking Eagle Sr., 57, passed away on March 2, 2004 in Mandan, ND of a long illness.

He was born January 18, 1947 in Poplar MT to Robert Lee Fox and Theresa Agnes (Walking Eagle) McKay. John worked some of his life as a auto body shop worker in Dan Francisco CA and later at Fort Peck Housing authorities for a short time. He liked to take long slow rides aroung on the back roads and listen to music and also liked being with family, friends and most of all what always put a mile on his face was seeing his grandkids. He always had a joke for everybody and was well known to make people laugh and lift everyone's spirits. Always has a kind heart to help someone out.He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his mother Theresa, four boys; Ronald Lee, Elias Lee, Jeffery Jacob Walking Eagle all of Poplar, MT and John Lee Walking Eagle of Billings, MT, three sisters; Iris and Patricia McKay of Brockton, MT and Doris McKay of Poplar, MT, a brother; Eugene McKay of Poplar MT, ten girls; Kathy and Yolonda Walking Eagle of Billings, MT, Desirea and Antoinette Walking Eagle of Califonia, Jonelle Walking Eagle of Bismarck ND, Bernetta, Marian, Latoya, and Johnette Walking Eagle of Poplar MT, and Heaven Onstad of Wolf Point, MT, five grandkids; Maireon, Kaidon, Carlus Sean-deja, Kyle, Ameera Shadow, Johathan, Mercedes Walking Eagle, Melanie Menz, Etihan McKay, Collin Red Boy, Veronica Hanneman.He is preceded by his father, Lee Fox, a brother Patrick McKay Jr., three sons, Jonathan, Baby boy and Jacob Walking Eagle, a niece Dena Duncan, two grandkids Jarid Red Boy and Alex Finemoon.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2004 beginning at 3:00 with a Prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 10:00 am at the Poplar Culture Center. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Brockton, MT.
