John was born September 27, 1928 the son of Laurence and Lois (Vetter) Watters in Victor, MT. He attended school in Missoula and graduated from Missoula High School. John worked construction as a millwright. He was united in marriage to Myrtle and he later married Sandra Flint in May of 1981 in Centralia, WA.
He was a member of the Mason´s, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and loved to go camping. He also enjoyed gold panning and loved watching Western Movies.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Lois Watters; his first wife Myrtle Watters; his second wife Sandra Watters; his daughter Sally Edgbert and his sister Beverly Munson.
He is survived by his daughter Joni (Dale) Heppner of Forsyth, MT; his son John Watters of Billings, MT; George (Phyllis) Watters of Bartonville, IL; Shirley (Charles) Dean of Missoula, MT; Joe (Less) Smith of Missoula, MT and Bev (Gayle) Munson of Florence, MT. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 4 great nieces and 3 great nephews.
At John´s request, cremation has taken place and services are planned for August of 2012 in Victor, MT.

God bless my grandfather, he was truly an amazing grandfather! John was a kind, gentle man, he loved kids, and loved his gold panning and fishing we never tire of that! He will be missed, but we find comfort that he is reunited with Grandma Sandy and other family now.
