On January 27, 2021, Ann Gamble passed away peacefully in her home at the Cottonwood Care Home in Miles City with her family by her side.
Ann was born on June 23, 1934 to John and Oral (Hodsdon) Lei of Sonnette, MT. Ann attended school in Broadus where she graduated from Powder River County High School. After high school Ann met William “Bill” Gamble at a dance. Soon after they were married and to this union they had four children; Oralei, John, Rosa and Roger.
Ann worked as a “stay at home mom” she was very active in all of her children’s activities from a Den Mother to a Mother Advisor of Rainbows. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed such as quilting, sewing and among her favorite’s was doing jigsaw puzzles. She loved playing card games and could even beat John in Cribbage.
She was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star and sold many Shrine Circus tickets, alongside her husband Bill. She enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital, RSVP, the Welfare Office and at the Holy Rosary Extended Care.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; one daughter, Rosa Neese; parents, John and Oral Lei; three siblings, Sam Lei, Jim Lei and Clara Lei Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Oralei (Ray) Hoffman and their children, Amy (Brian) Miller, Ty (JoanAne) Hoffman and Tim Hoffman all of Great Falls, MT; two sons, John (Kathy Stein) Gamble of Miles City, MT and Roger Gamble and his son Krew Gamble of Nampa, ID; one son-in-law, Don Neese and his children, Buddy (Deb) Neese of Billings, MT and Cori (Travis) Brothers of Bismarck, ND and ten great grandchildren, Kendra & Sophia Miller, Gavin & William Hoffman, Nolan Hoffman, Ryen, Tristen & Avery Brothers and Dylan & Logan Neese.
Even though mom’s last few years were tough she was never one to complain she’s always would say “can’t complain” and we all say “comeback” with a smile. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of mom’s caregivers from ICU, Hospice and her family at the Cottonwood Care Home for taking such good care of her.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Son’s Funeral Home in Miles City, MT. A private family service will take place with burial at the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City, MT. Condolences can be made to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

So sorry for your loss. I recall the many times seeing Ann and your Dad and one long long trip to Kalispell for Rainbow. Shriner ticket time was so important to her and your Dad. They would have sold a million of them if permitted. Take care.
