In Memory Of

Joseph McNurlin, age 81, of Billings, formerly of Miles City

March 25, 1943 – January 26, 2025

Joseph Arnold McNurlin, “Papa”, was born March 25, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN to Glen and Bernice McNurlin; Joe passed January 26, 2025.In 1963, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country.

Joe mastered his many talents. He could fix anything, build anything, catch anything, or grow anything. He owned Joe’s Rock Shop, then Joe’s Clock Shop, and finally Joe’s Garden. Joe was a diehard NDSU Bison Football fan. GO BISON! He loved all sports and had the uncanny ability to remember all the facts of any sport. Joe loved a good card game and took great pleasure in passing those deuces!

Joe shared his life fulfillments with family and his many friends. He was the kindest of men. He always had a smile, a story, or something to share. He never met a stranger. Joe loved early morning coffee with his friends, especially the gang at the Pelican.

Joe is survived by and will be missed forever by his loving wife Beverley, his son Kevin (Kirsten), and Beverley’s children Jackie Schnee and Mitch Schnee, whom Joe loved as his own. Granddaughters Kelsey (Justin), Courtney (James), and Hailey (Walker) and their children will forever mourn the loss of their Papa. Joe is also survived by his daughters Jolynn, Annette, Tara, and their families, sister Jeanette (Karl), brother Jerome, sisters-in-law Kathy, Barbara Smith, Pat (Banner) Stokke, brother-in-law Tom McLean, many nieces, nephews, and their families, and many friends.

We would like to thank the staff at DCI for their compassionate care over the last three years.
