Josephine Jo Bloxom, age 88, of Miles City passed away at the Holy Rosary Hospital on Saturday, January 30th.
Jo was born on August 29, 1921 in Brisbane, North Dakota to Dennis and Mary Bonogofsky. Jo came from a large family with eleven brothers and sisters. Surviving siblings include Mary Deichert, Ann Julson, Phyllis Volk and Blase Bonogofsky. Jo worked many jobs through her life mostly making sure her friends and family were well fed at home and at restaurants around town. She worked at the Holy Rosary Hospital for over 15 years making sure patients were well fed and cared for.
Jo married Leslie Bloxom on January 21, 1948 at St. Gertrudes in Raleigh, North Dakota. Together they raised five children: Mary Jo Bonogofsky, Donna (Gene) Gaug of Yardville, NJ; Ed Bloxom (Special friend Julie Kaufman) of Miles City, MT; Debbie Thibault and Tanna Martin of Helena, MT. Jo has eleven grandchildren: Gina Breath, Matthew Gaug, Lee Bloxom, Tracy Riola, Lynette Dudley, Joy Kroenke, Elizabeth Thibault, Kate Thibault, Aaron Martin, John Martin and Tim Martin. Eleven great grandchildren: Maura, Dylan and Simon Breath, Alexis, Christopher and Josh Dudley, Mark Lopez, Chance and Dylan Riola, Dillon Martin and Lees daughter Paige.
Preceding Jo in death are daughters, Mary Jo Bonogofsky and Debbie Thibault as well as grandson Joseph Gaug.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stevenson and Sons Chapel in Miles City. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 11:00 am at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
