Joyce Carter, age 73, ofFallon, MT passed away on Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, MT.
Joyce was born on March 17, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Thomas and Agnes (Zasada)Degnan. She was raised in Milwaukee where she attended school. At the age of 16, Joyce moved to Richey, Montana with a friend where she metTommy Baldwin. They were married on October 16, 1948 and resided in Richey on the family ranch. Joyce and Tommy raised 5 children on the ranch while working there. They were later divorced in 1968. Joyce worked in Richey, Circle and Brockway. While living in Terry, she met Willie Carter and they were married on September 17, 1971. They made their home in Terry and then moved on to Fallon. She worked for Waldo Gardens and various other jobs in the area. After her divorce from Willie in 1993, she remained in Fallon where she has resided since. Joyce enjoyed sports, reading, gardening and her animals her pets were always kept close. She enjoyed her house plants and took great pride in them. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Methodist Ladies Aide in Richey.
She is survived by her 2 sons; StevenBaldwin of Fallon, MT, RickBaldwin of Richey, MT, 4 daughters; Valerie Baldwin of Richey, MT, Kimberlee (Daryl)Vaira of Lambert, MT, Tracy (Kelly) Kruger of Regent, ND, Heather Carter of Terry, MT, a brother Richard Degnan,four sisters; Pat, Lois, Brownie and Nancy, twelve grandchildren; Shawn, Tiffany, Matthew, Carrie, Courtney, Megan, Devon, Drue, Thomas, Kale, Dane and Callen and 9 great-grandchildren; Brianna, Bradley, Quinten, Spencer, Madison, Brianna, Tristyn, Braeden and Makyya.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Bobby and Tommy and a sister Janice Loppnow.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Interment will follow in the Prairie County Cemetery.
