Funeral Service: Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
Interment: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
Joyce AileenLorenzen, age 82, of Miles City passed away at her home on March 5, 2007
Joyce was born inIsmay, Montana on December 29, 1924, the daughter of Albert G. and Gladys Lombard Nitschke. Joyce attended schools in Ismay and graduated in 1942 fromIsmay High School. She married WilliamLorenzen in June of 1943 in Tempe, Arizona, where he was stationed in the Army Air Corp. They returned to Ismay and lived there until 1963, when they moved to Three Forks, Montana. After a few years, they moved to Miles City, Montana. Joyce worked as a cook at the Pine Hill School for boys for 17 years. In 1996 she moved to the Joyce Conley elderly care home and lived there until her death.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, two brothers: Richard and Robert and a sister, Betty Henderson. She survived by a brother, John E. (Jack)Nitschke of Miles City, MT; a son, John (Kathy) of Hot Springs, SD; two grandchildren: Paul (Tami) of Pierre, SD; Wendy of Hot Springs, SD; and two great grandchildren: Jaydon and Erica and numerous nieces and nephews.
