Joyce Bandy Tipton was born on January 14, 1929. She was the fourth child of Frank and Hannah Bandy. Joyce married Alfred "Buck" Tipton in 1948. They had two children, Duane A. Tipton of San Diego, California and Frank V. Tipton of Gainesville, Florida. Joyce grew up on a ranch in Carter County and attended grade school in Ekalaka. She attended high school in Broadus and graduated in 1947. She was active in 4-H and learned to sew at an early age. Buck and Joyce came back to Broadus in 1986 and she took care of her father until he passed on in 1989. She had been busy sewing for a lot of people in the area. She was very active in community programs. She was a greeter at the Powder River Historical Museum, active at the Powder River Senior Center, and helped at the Recycle Center. She liked country music and loved to dance.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Buck in 1994, one sister, two brothers, and her parents. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus, Montana. Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.

Danielle Tipton says
When tomorrow starts without me
And I’m not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry
The way you did today;
While thinking of the many things
We didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me
As much as I love you;
And each time that you think of me,
I know you’ll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand.
She said my place was ready
In heaven far above;
And that I’d have to leave behind,
All those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye;
For all my life, I’d always thought
I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do;
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad;
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday
Just even for awhile,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized
That this could never be;
For emptiness and memories
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things
I might miss come tomorrow;
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven’s gates
I felt so much at home;
When God looked down and smiled at me
From His great golden throne.
He said, “This is eternity
And all I’ve promised you;
Today your life on earth is past,
But here it all starts anew.”
“I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last;
And since each day’s the same day,
There’s no longing for the past.”
“But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true;
Though at times you did do things,
You knew you shouldn’t do.”
“But you have been forgiven
And now at last you’re free;
So won’t you take my hand
And share my life with me?”
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me,
I’m right here in your heart.

Duane & Frank,
Please accept my condolences. I recall going to visit your Mom with my Mom as a child. I so admired her beauty, her beautiful skin and the beauty that was more than skin deep as well as her talent as a seamstress. Will miss her when visiting Broadus. Recall stopping in Wyoming to visit not long after your Dad was burned with hot molasses. She loved going to visit you and was always so full of fun. Buck was my Mom’s first cousin..Tana Cook. Want you to know that you have my thoughts, prayers & sympathy.

Aunt Joyce, it seems so hard to believe that such a gentle loving and full of joy and happiness would leave us. I have many fond and exciting times when we would visit you and Uncle Buck. I always could expect a practical joke, and grew to expect and love them. Love you Aunt Joyce!
Donna Christiaens Ellsworth says
Duane and Frank, when Mom called me to say your mom had passed, so many great memories came flooding back. I sat down right away to write to you and sent it to your mom’s PO Box in Broadus. I hope you will receive it before you go home. Your mom and dad were the best friends of my parents and very good people. The world lost the second half of a great couple when your mom passed. Such sweet memories of our times together in Great Falls, MT. My family holds you in our thoughts and prayers.
Bonnie Powell says
