Julia Ann Jimmy age 44 of Washington state formerly of Lame Deer, MT

July 21, 1971 – May 21, 2016

Julia Ann Ryan Jimmy, “xaeh a’ e”, Weasel Woman, age 44 of Lynden, Washington died peacefully in the presence of Maheo.  Julia was comforted by her special companion, Michael Patricks during her illness at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Bellingham, Washington.  Julia was born to the late, Vann Ryan, Sr., and Anna Mae Pine Ryan on July 21, 1971 at Crow Agency Hospital, Crow Agency, Mt.

Julia attended the Lame Deer Public Schools and graduated from the Busby High School, Busby, Mt. While attending the Lame Deer School, she earned a trip to visit the National Capital Building, Washington. D.C. During her high school years, she was a cheerleader of the Busby Eagles.  Julia was a member of the Mormon Church.

She continued her education at the Miles Community College and later attended the Job Corp at Clearfield, Utah. Julia married Sendick Jimmy of Washington, through this union, they had one child, Doreen Jimmy, age 12. Julia lived on the Nooksack reservation for a few years where she raised her two children.  Julia’s employment history includes a clerk for the NC. Tribal Court, Cook for Cheyenne Depot, Cook for the Chicken Coop, Cook for Headstart Summer Camp, and Warehouse Floor Worker.

Julia loved taking family pictures of social gatherings, graduations, and other special occasions, She enjoyed playing hand games at every Crow tribal hand game tournament. She was a faithful fan of the Patriots.  Julia’s special gift was putting others first before her own needs.  She graciously gave to others, such as musical CD’s, jewelry, books, words of encouragement/gratitude, and souvenirs to keep.

Julia lived at many different places and made many lasting friendships along the way. Julia is a strong survivor and was able to get from one place to another without any outside help.

Julia made a sacred vow to fast in our highest ceremonial lodge, she later conducted sweat ceremonies and learned to sing our traditional songs. She was proud of her native heritage and culture. She looked forward in fixing the family sweat lodge and helping out at the Family Sun Dance Camp for her four brothers every summer.

Julia is preceded in death by her father, Vann Ryan, Sr. Julia is survived by her mother, Anna Mae Ryan and one daughter, Doreen Jimmy, and three sons, Patrick Ryan, Jeff White shield, and Jordan Ryan.  Three sisters, Claudine (Richard) Little bird, Vanessa (Johnson)James, and Galena Matthews, and Four brothers, Paul (Kassie) Ryan, Vann (Adrian) Ryan, Jr., Brent Ryan and Quentin (Michaelena)Ryan and Grandmother Margaret Behan, Aunts  Holda Roundstone and Jolene Gardner, adopted brothers, David Wooden thigh, John Juastad,Tim Whistlingelk, Del Whiteface, Canadian Dave, and Dennis Littlewhiteman, numerous nieces, cousins, and nephews.  Other extended relatives, Woundedeye, Marshall, Bearchum,Swallow,Spottedelk, Pine,Taylor,Clubfoote, Nighwalker,Bigback,Roundstone,Strangeowl, Bellymule, Standingelk, Fightingbear, Whitehawk, Redneck, Kingfisher, Braided Hair, and Gardner.
