On November 13, 1993 Julia married Vernon Steinert in Big Timber. The family ranched in Big Timber until 1994 when they purchased the Gerald Ellis ranch near Broadus.  Julia remained in Big Timber but due to health reasons she moved to Broadus in 2006 to be closer to her son Don.  She purchased a home in Broadus where she spent several years before moving to the Powder River Manor on May 5, 2012.

Julia enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers.  She loved bird watching, raising chickens and was an excellent cook.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Julia is survived by Two sons:  Don (Penny) Pearce of Broadus, MT and Dan (Virginia) Pearce of Sheridan, WY; four grandchildren:  Josh (Nicole) Pearce, Raymond (Sharlynn) Pearce, Heather (Jay) Brownfield, and Jonathan Pearce; two step grandchildren: Edward (Gloria) Bill and Jeffery (Erin) Bill; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.

    Don,Penny and family,
I am saddened for your loss and wish you peace and comfort as you lay your dear Mother to rest and in the days ahead. Thank you for allowing us the pleasure to care for Julia at Powder River Manor in her final years. She was a treasure and blessing in my, as well as many other staff’s, day when I worked there.

    Don, Penny, Heather and family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom, grandmother. I so enjoyed visiting with Julia over the years. She and Lois spent a lot of time together, and Lois seemed to enjoy making sure Julia got where she needed to be. She very much enjoyed playing with my grandchildren when I brought them to the Manor. I always told her I loved her beautiful blue eyes and it would get me a big smile everytime. She will be missed and remembered for the lovely lady she was… It was a pleasure to know her… GOD Bless you all.
