June Elvira Ryan Loomis, 94, passed away August 22, 2022 surrounded by family and friends.
On June 11, 1928, June was born on the family homestead to James E. and Elvira Ballentine Ryan.
June was married to Daniel R. Loomis on October 20, 1946 and to this union four children were born.
June was involved in the Blackfoot Sunday School Church and housed many youngsters who attended the vacation bible school in the summers. She also enjoyed her time with the Blackfoot Home Demonstration Club ladies and wrote the Brusett News for the Jordan Tribune for many years. She was honored for her involvement with the Garfield County Fair. She baked and decorated wedding cakes and she taught decorating class at the Garfield County High School, where she made life-long friends. These were just a few of the numerous activities that June was involved in throughout her life.
June resided on the family ranch for 77 years and was very proud of that fact. For the last 22 years, after the passing of her husband, she continued alone, raising sheep, enjoying her llamas and donkeys and keeping the ranch a working concern.
June is survived by her four children: Marcella, Delores (Bob), Elbert (Emily) and Marvin (Connie), 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her son-in-law Ken Johnson and a grandson Robbie Rooney.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow in the Hearts at Peace Cemetery in Brusett at noon. No luncheon will take place per the families request. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Garfield Ambulance Fund.

I will miss sitting at her kitchen table visiting and eating little oranges and cookies. Her little donkeys must be looking in the window wondering where she is. June, may God Bless your soul.

To all of June’s family, I know that you were blessed to have had June for so long and it will be hard to adjust to not having her around, but she is with God and family. I will miss her smiling face and hugs. She has been a part of my life and it is with great sadness that she is gone from all of us, but she is at peace and whole again. I considered it a great honor to have been able to share in taking care and looking out for June for the last few years. June was such a part of this community for so long that a hole has been left that will be hard to fill, but she guided a few in the right direction.

Many memories of Aunt June and Uncle Daniel. As a child we were invited to their home, or they were coming to ours. Enjoyed the stories and the love that was felt by both of them. She had such a contagious laugh and usually laughed at most things. Beautiful smile and always willing to help someone or at least laugh with them. Heaven has gained another beautiful soul. Another of God’s daughters have gone home to be with her Heavenly parents and renew her earthly family connection. Go in peace Aunt June.
