Justin John Gunnare, age 23, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Lame Deer, Montana.

Justin was born in Parkston, South Dakota on October 27, 1982, the son of Les J. and Kelly Margaret (Burns) Gunnare. Justin attended grade school in Campbell and graduated as Valedictorian from Silver Lake High School in Roseland, Nebraska. Following graduation, he attended Black Hills State College in Spearfish, South Dakota where he graduated with a bachelors degree in education. He then moved to Miles City where he did his student teaching at Custer County District High School and was the assistant womens basketball coach with his uncle, Dwight Gunnare, at Miles Community College. He was head coach for the Miles City Colts Baseball team. Justin accepted his first teaching position at the Lame Deer Public Schools where he was teaching at the time of his death. Justin played American Legion Baseball for the Campbell Cardinals where his father coached. Justin enjoyed watching the Seattle Mariners Baseball Team and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Justin is survived by his parents, Les J. and Kelly M. Gunnare of Campbell, NE; a sister: Mallary Ann Gunnare of Campbell, NE; his grandparents: John and Lianne Gunnare of Wagner, SD; Jack and Corrine Burns of Blue Hill, NE; and a great gramma, Bertha Beck of Delmont, SD; his aunts and uncles: Dwight (Ann) Gunnare of Miles City, MT; Deb (John) Rothenberger of Brandon, SD; Lori Gunnare of Albuquerque, NM; Chuck (Roxie) Burns of Monument, CO; Dennis (Shelley) Burns of Tillamock, OR; Jim Anderesen of Hartford, SD; and Bob Mildenberg of Madison, SD; his cousins: Aaron (Alissa) Rothenberger; Adam (Chrystal) Rothenberger; Rachael (Jeff) Brabant; Chris Gunnare; Danielle Gunnare; Jordan Olivier; Eric (Reyna) Burns; Josh (Brenda) Burns; Jessie Burns; Ian Mildenberg; and Mia Mildenberg.

Justin was preceded in death by his aunt, Kitty Andresen.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the family of Justin Gunnare.
